أعلن نادي مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي، اليوم (الأربعاء)، تعاقده مع حارس المرمى الأرجنتيني جيرونيمو رولي، قادماً من صفوف أولمبيك مارسيليا الفرنسي.
وقال النادي في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي، إنه تعاقد مع جيرونيمو رولي بعقد يمتد حتى صيف 2028، ليعود اللاعب إلى ملعب (الاتحاد)، بعد تجربته السابقة مع الفريق.
وكان رولي قد انضم إلى مانشستر سيتي صيف عام 2016، ولكن نظراً للمنافسة الشديدة، أمضى رولي النصف الثاني من موسم 2016-2017 معاراً إلى ريال سوسيداد، قبل أن ينتقل نهائياً إلى الفريق الإسباني صيف عام 2017.
ويأتي التعاقد مع رولي، البالغ من العمر 34 عاماً، لتعويض جيمس ترافورد، الذي رحل عن تاسيتي للانضمام إلى ليدز يونايتد.
وخاض الحارس الدولي الأرجنتيني تجارب مع عدة أندية أوروبية؛ بينها ريال سوسيداد ومونبلييه وفياريال وأياكس أمستردام، وخلال فترة وجوده مع فياريال، لعب دوراً بارزاً في الفوز على مانشستر يونايتد في نهائي الدوري الأوروبي عام 2021.
English club Manchester City announced today (Wednesday) the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, coming from French side Olympique Marseille.
The club stated in a statement on its official website that it has signed Geronimo Rulli on a contract that extends until the summer of 2028, bringing the player back to the Etihad Stadium after his previous stint with the team.
Rulli joined Manchester City in the summer of 2016, but due to intense competition, he spent the second half of the 2016-2017 season on loan at Real Sociedad, before permanently transferring to the Spanish team in the summer of 2017.
The signing of Rulli, who is 34 years old, comes to replace James Trafford, who left City to join Leeds United.
The Argentine international goalkeeper has had experiences with several European clubs, including Real Sociedad, Montpellier, Villarreal, and Ajax Amsterdam, and during his time at Villarreal, he played a key role in the victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final in 2021.
