البداية جاءت بإعلان رئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم ياسر المسحل، استقالته عبر حسابه الرسمي على منصة «X»، عقب خروج المنتخب السعودي من دور المجموعات في كأس العالم 2026، بعدما أنهى مشاركته في المركز الأخير بمجموعته، في نتيجة فتحت باب الانتقادات والمراجعات.
أقل من 24 ساعة كانت كافية لتشهد الكرة السعودية حدثين بارزين؛ فبعد استقالة رئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم ياسر المسحل، أعلنت رابطة الدوري السعودي للمحترفين إنهاء العلاقة التعاقدية مع مايكل إيمينالو، لتتسارع وتيرة التغييرات الإدارية قبل أسابيع قليلة من انطلاق الموسم الجديد.
تزامُن هذين القرارين، وقبيل انطلاق موسم جديد، أعاد النقاش حول مستقبل إدارة الكرة السعودية، وسط مطالبات جماهيرية بوضوح الرؤية، وسرعة الإعلان عن البدائل، واستمرار العمل على المشروع الرياضي الذي حقق حضوراً عالمياً خلال الأعوام الماضية.

Less than 24 hours were enough for Saudi football to witness two significant events; after the resignation of Yasser Al-Mashel, the President of the Saudi Football Federation, the Saudi Professional League announced the termination of its contractual relationship with Michael Emenalo, accelerating the pace of administrative changes just weeks before the start of the new season.
