تمكنت شرطة منطقة عسير بالتعاون مع القوة الخاصة للأمن البيئي بمنطقة عسير، من القبض على المواطن حسين ظافر حسين القحطاني، لارتكابه مخالفة صيد كائن فطري مهدد بالانقراض «الوعل»، وضبط بحوزته مسدس، و20 ذخيرة متنوعة، و4 كائنات فطرية مصيدة، وجرى إيقافه واتخاذ الإجراءات النظامية بحقه، وإحالته إلى الجهة المختصة.
60 ألفاً العقوبة
وشدد الأمن العام على الالتزام بنظام البيئة ولوائحه التنفيذية التي تحظر صيد الكائنات الفطرية، مؤكدةً أن عقوبة صيد الوعل غرامة 60000 ريال، وعقوبة الصيد دون ترخيص غرامة 10000 ريال، وعقوبة الصيد في أماكن محظور الصيد فيها غرامة 5000 ريال.
وأهاب بالمبادرة إلى الإبلاغ عن أي حالات تمثل اعتداءً على البيئة أو الحياة الفطرية، وذلك بالاتصال بالرقم 911 بمناطق مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة والرياض والشرقية، و999 و996 في بقية مناطق المملكة، وستعامل جميع البلاغات بسرية تامة دون أدنى مسؤولية على المبلّغ.

It confirmed that the penalty for hunting the ibex is a fine of 60,000 riyals, while hunting without a license incurs a fine of 10,000 riyals, and hunting in prohibited areas incurs a fine of 5,000 riyals.
It urged individuals to report any cases that represent an assault on the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions. All reports will be treated with complete confidentiality, with no liability on the reporter.
