وأصبح هدف ساني ثاني أسرع هدف يسجله المنتخب الألماني في تاريخ مشاركاته بكأس العالم، خلف الرقم القياسي الذي لا يزال بحوزة إرنست لينر، الذي هز شباك النمسا خلال مونديال 1934 في الدقيقة الأولى من المباراة.
ويؤكد هذا الهدف البداية القوية لألمانيا في المواجهة، كما أعاد إلى الواجهة أحد أقدم الأرقام التاريخية في سجل «المانشافت» بالمونديال بعد أكثر من 9 عقود على تسجيله.
