تعرض قميص الحارس الدولي الإسباني السابق ونجم ريال مدريد إيكر كاسياس التاريخي الذي ارتداه في نهائي مونديال كأس العالم 2010 إلى السرقة من «متحف الأساطير» الشهير الواقع في وسط العاصمة الإسبانية مدريد بالقرب من ساحة بويرتا ديل سول، ما أثار غضب كاسياس الذي شارك وقتها أساسياً في فوز إسبانيا على هولندا 1-0، في نهائي نسخة جنوب أفريقيا قبل 16 عاماً من الآن، ولعب دوراً محورياً في تتويج «لاروخا» باللقب للمرة الأولى والأخيرة حتى الآن.
وذكرت تقارير إعلامية نقلاً عن بيان أصدرته إدارة المتحف، أنه تبينت سرقة القميص منه، بعدما تم اكتشاف اختفائه بشكل صادم ومفاجئ خلال عملية تفتيش ومراجعة دورية في الساعات القليلة الماضية.
وجاء في البيان: يعلن متحف الأساطير اختفاء إحدى أبرز القطع في مجموعته، وتخص القميص الذي ارتداه إيكر كاسياس في نهائي كأس العالم بجنوب أفريقيا عام 2010، وقد تم اكتشاف غيابه خلال المراجعة الروتينية التي أُجريت خلال الساعات الأخيرة.
وأضاف البيان أنه نظراً للأهمية التاريخية والرياضية لهذه القطعة، يعمل المتحف حالياً على توضيح ملابسات ما حدث، وفي الوقت الراهن، لن يتم تقديم مزيد من التفاصيل، وسيتم الإعلان عن أي مستجدات عبر القنوات الرسمية للمتحف.

Its absence was discovered during the routine review conducted in the last few hours."
Furthermore, the statement added that due to the historical and sporting significance of this piece, the museum is currently working to clarify the circumstances of what happened.
