حقق المنتخب السعودي للملاكمة إنجازًا مميزًا في دورة الألعاب الخليجية الرابعة المقامة في الدوحة، بعد حصوله على ثلاث ميداليات ذهبية للنخبة، وميدالية برونزية، مسجلًا عودته إلى تحقيق الميداليات الذهبية بعد أكثر من 10 سنوات، في تأكيد جديد على التطور المتواصل الذي تشهده الملاكمة السعودية.
وجاءت الميداليات الذهبية عبر اللاعب مهند مجرشي في منافسات وزن 55 كغم، بعد فوزه على القطري محمد الفاغي بنتيجة 4-1، فيما حقق اللاعب زياد مجرشي الميدالية الذهبية في منافسات وزن 60 كغم عقب انتصاره على البحريني عمر بودحالي بنتيجة 4-1.
كما واصل المنتخب السعودي تألقه بتحقيق الذهبية الثالثة عن طريق اللاعب عبدالرحمن صادق في منافسات وزن 80 كغم، بعد فوزه على الإماراتي خالد الكردي بنتيجة 5-0، فيما نال اللاعب عبدالله دركزنلي الميدالية البرونزية في منافسات وزن 75 كغم.
من جانبه هنأ المستشار تركي آل الشيخ أبطال المنتخب السعودي والجهازين الفني والإداري على هذا الإنجاز، مشيدًا بالمستويات الفنية والروح التنافسية التي ظهر بها اللاعبون خلال البطولة، مؤكدًا أن ما تحقق يعكس حجم العمل والتطوير الذي يشهده الاتحاد السعودي للملاكمة، والدعم المستمر للمواهب الوطنية من أجل تعزيز حضور المملكة في المحافل الرياضية الإقليمية والدولية.
ويأتي هذا الإنجاز امتدادًا للخطوات التطويرية التي يشهدها الاتحاد السعودي للملاكمة، والجهود المستمرة لبناء جيل سعودي قادر على المنافسة وتحقيق الإنجازات باسم المملكة في مختلف البطولات، وذلك بعد إقامة عدد من البطولات الداخلية والتصفيات على مستوى مناطق المملكة لاختيار اللاعبين الأبرز، إلى جانب تنفيذ معسكرات إعداد وتجهيز فني بإشراف نخبة من أفضل المدربين، ضمن برامج تطويرية تهدف إلى رفع جاهزية الملاكمين وتعزيز مستوى التنافسية للمنتخب السعودي.
The Saudi boxing team achieved a remarkable accomplishment at the fourth Gulf Games held in Doha, winning three gold medals for the elite and one bronze medal, marking its return to winning gold medals after more than 10 years, further confirming the continuous development of Saudi boxing.
The gold medals were won by player Muhannad Majrashi in the 55 kg category, after defeating Qatari player Mohammed Al-Faghi with a score of 4-1, while player Ziad Majrashi secured the gold medal in the 60 kg category following his victory over Bahraini player Omar Budhali with a score of 4-1.
The Saudi team continued to shine by achieving a third gold medal through player Abdulrahman Sadiq in the 80 kg category, after winning against Emirati player Khalid Al-Kurdi with a score of 5-0, while player Abdullah Darkznli won the bronze medal in the 75 kg category.
For his part, Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh congratulated the champions of the Saudi team and the technical and administrative staff on this achievement, praising the technical levels and competitive spirit displayed by the players during the tournament, emphasizing that what has been achieved reflects the extent of the work and development witnessed by the Saudi Boxing Federation, and the ongoing support for national talents to enhance the Kingdom's presence in regional and international sports events.
This achievement comes as a continuation of the developmental steps being taken by the Saudi Boxing Federation, and the ongoing efforts to build a Saudi generation capable of competing and achieving accomplishments in the name of the Kingdom in various championships. This follows the organization of several internal tournaments and qualifiers at the regional level to select the most prominent players, in addition to implementing training camps and technical preparations under the supervision of a selection of the best coaches, as part of developmental programs aimed at enhancing the readiness of the boxers and boosting the competitiveness of the Saudi team.
