وافق الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم «FIFA» على أهلية الثنائي أحمد قاسم (مواليد السويد) لاعب ناشفيل الأمريكي وداريو نامو (مواليد فنلندا) مدافع دندي الأسكتلندي، للتواجد في قائمة منتخب العراق التي ستشارك في مونديال 2026، بعد أن وضعته القرعة في مجموعة صعبة تضم منتخبات فرنسا والنرويج والسنغال، بعد أن أثبت الاتحاد العراقي أهلية اللاعبين و تطابقها مع لوائح «FIFA»، حيث يسعى المنتخب العراقي لتقديم نسخه مميزة في هذا المونديال بعد غياب 40 عاماً.
