شخّص عدد من النقاد أسباب تراجع المنتخب السعودي مع المدرب رينارد بعد الخسارة الثانية التي تلقاها المنتخب السعودي الأول لكرة القدم، أمام نظيره الصربي بنتيجة (2-1)، في المباراة الودية التي جمعتهما في مدينة بلغراد الصربية، ضمن معسكره الإعدادي الجاري استعدادًا للمشاركة في كأس العالم 2026.
4 مدربين قادرون على انتشال «الأخضر»
في البداية أوضح المدرب الوطني محمد أبوعراد في حديثه لـ«عكاظ»، أن هناك الكثير من الأسماء التي يمكن الاستعانة بها لتدريب المنتخب السعودي بدلاً من المدرب الفرنسي هيرفي رينارد، إذ أظهرت نتائج المنتخب السعودي عدم كفاءته التدريبية وخصوصاً أن بطولة كأس العالم ستكون بعد أقل من 3 شهور فقط. وقال: «المدربان الوطنيان سعد الشهري أو خالد العطوي، سيكونان الأفضل لقيادة للمنتخب السعودي لأننا نعيش أسوأ نتائج للأخضر مع المدرب الحالي رينارد»، وأضاف: «يمكن الاستعانة بمدرب الهلال إنزاغي، خصوصاً أنه يجيد الدفاع، وأسلوب تدريبه هو الأنسب لمنتخبنا الوطني، أو الاستعانة بمدرب الاتحاد كونسيساو لأنه يملك خبرة واسعة ومن الممكن جداً أن يقدم الإضافة، ولست مؤيداً لوجود خيسوس فأسلوب لعبه لا يناسب المنتخب السعودي»، لافتاً إلى أن «الأخضر» يحتاج لتأمين دفاعاته قبل خوض المونديال.
جابر يحذر من إقالة رينارد
من جانبه حذّر المحاضر الآسيوي الدكتور يحيى جابر من إقالة المدرب رينارد وطالب باستمراره وقال: «إقالة رينارد ستكون خطأ إدارياً فادحاً يُضاف لما سبقه من أخطاء، وسيولد هذا القرار مشكلة كبيرة، وحلوله مؤقتة وربما تنجح بشكل مؤقت أو لا تنجح، ويذهب ضحيتها الجهاز الفني الجديد إذا تم ذلك». وأضاف: «مشكلتنا الحقيقية في الإدارة الرياضية لكرة القدم التي تحتاج لخطط وإستراتيجية طويلة الأمد، وليس البحث عن بطولة وقتية».
المنتخب ليس حكراً على «الـ 4 الكبار»
من جانبه قال المدير الفني للمركز الإقليمي في عسير التابع للاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم أحمد محرز: «لا بد أن نعرف أننا لا نملك لاعبين ذوي جودة فنية عالية داخل الملعب، أو لاعبين يصنعون الفرق سواء بوجود مدرب أجنبي أو وطني، ولا بد أن يستوعب كل مسؤول في اتحاد الكرة أن المنتخب الوطني ليس حكراً على الأربعة الكبار»، لافتاً إلى أن «المنتخب بحاجة للاعبين لديهم الشغف الكبير لتمثيل «الأخضر»، وصناعة تاريخ لوطنهم ولأنفسهم». وقال: «أجزم بأن أغلب لاعبي المنتخب الحاليين تشبعوا كروياً، ولن يقدموا أكثر مما قدموه سواء بقي رينارد أو غادر».

4 Coaches Capable of Rescuing the "Green"
Initially, national coach Mohammed Abouarad explained in his talk to "Okaz" that there are many names that could be considered to coach the Saudi national team instead of French coach Hervé Renard, as the results of the Saudi team have shown his lack of coaching competence, especially since the World Cup will be in less than 3 months. He said: "The national coaches Saad Al-Shehri or Khalid Al-Atwi would be the best to lead the Saudi national team because we are experiencing the worst results for the Green with the current coach Renard." He added: "We can consider the Al-Hilal coach Inzaghi, especially since he excels in defense, and his coaching style is the most suitable for our national team, or we can consider the Al-Ittihad coach Concesao because he has extensive experience and could definitely provide an addition. I do not support the presence of Jesus as his playing style does not suit the Saudi national team," noting that the "Green" needs to secure its defense before entering the World Cup.
Jaber Warns Against Dismissing Renard
For his part, Asian lecturer Dr. Yahya Jaber warned against dismissing coach Renard and called for his continuation, saying: "Dismissing Renard would be a grave administrative error added to previous mistakes, and this decision would create a big problem, with temporary solutions that may succeed temporarily or may not succeed, and the new coaching staff would suffer if this happens." He added: "Our real problem lies in the sports administration of football, which needs long-term plans and strategies, rather than seeking a temporary championship."
The National Team is Not Exclusive to the "Big 4"
For his part, the technical director of the regional center in Asir affiliated with the Saudi Football Federation, Ahmed Mahrez, said: "We must understand that we do not have players with high technical quality on the field, or players who can make a difference whether there is a foreign or national coach. Every official in the Football Federation must realize that the national team is not exclusive to the big four." He pointed out that "the team needs players who have a great passion to represent the 'Green' and to create a history for their country and themselves." He said: "I am certain that most of the current national team players have become saturated with football and will not offer more than what they have already provided, whether Renard stays or leaves."
