كشف مدرب الأفريقي فوزي البنزرتي حقيقة استبعاد اللاعب الجزائري توفيق الشريفي من إحدى مباريات الفريق في بطولة الدوري التونسي بسبب إصراره على الصيام.
وتزعم تقارير صحفية أن فوزي البنزرتي لا يفرض على اللاعبين الإفطار في شهر رمضان، لكنه لا يعتمد أي لاعب صائم في التشكيلة الأساسية لضمان الجاهزية البدنية الكاملة، وهو ما نفاه «شيخ المدربين» جملة وتفصيلاً.
موقفه من صيام اللاعبين
وقال البنزرتي في تصريحات خاصة لـ«عكاظ»: «ما يُتداول عن استبعادي للاعبين الصائمين من التشكيلة الأساسية للمباريات «كلام فاضي»، توفيق الشريفي كان مصاباً وعاد للمشاركة في لقاء الأمس».
وأضاف المدرب التونسي: «كل لاعب حر في قراره، ومن المستحيل أن أستبعد لاعباً من التشكيلة الأساسية بسبب الصيام».

ويحتل الأفريقي المركز الثاني في ترتيب الدوري التونسي برصيد51 نقطة، متأخراً بنقطتين فقط عن الترجي متصدر الجدول.

The Tunisian coach added: "Every player is free in their decision, and it is impossible for me to exclude a player from the starting lineup because of fasting."
