كشفت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية عن زيارة مرتقبة للمبعوث الأمريكي الخاص ستيف ويتكوف، وجاريد كوشنر صهر الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ومستشاره السابق إلى إسرائيل يوم الثلاثاء القادم، في ظل استمرار الحرب الأمريكية-الإسرائيلية ضد إيران.
وبحسب مسؤول أمريكي رفيع نقلت عنه القناة 12، تأتي الزيارة في توقيت حساس للغاية، حيث أبدت الإدارة الأمريكية انزعاجها من حجم ونطاق الضربات الإسرائيلية على منشآت النفط الإيرانية، مما يشير إلى أن الزيارة قد تهدف إلى تنسيق المواقف بين واشنطن وتل أبيب، ومناقشة حدود التصعيد العسكري، وإمكانية إعادة فتح قنوات دبلوماسية أو تهدئة جزئية.
واندلعت الحرب الحالية بين الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل من جهة، وإيران من جهة أخرى، في أواخر فبراير، بعد فشل جولات مفاوضات نووية أخيرة في جنيف وعُمان وسويسرا.
وبدأت الغارات الأمريكية-الإسرائيلية المكثفة على منشآت نووية وعسكرية ونفطية إيرانية، تلتها ردود إيرانية بصواريخ باليستية ومسيّرات استهدفت قواعد ومصالح أمريكية في المنطقة، ومنشآت حيوية في دول الخليج العربي، إضافة إلى الأردن والعراق.
يُعد ستيف ويتكوف رجل الأعمال المقرب من ترمب ومبعوثه الخاص للشرق الأوسط، وجاريد كوشنر صهر ترمب ومهندس اتفاقيات أبراهام سابقاً، من أبرز المبعوثين الذين يديرون الملفات الإقليمية في إدارة ترمب الثانية.
وسبق لهما زيارات متعددة إلى إسرائيل في الأشهر الماضية لبحث ملفات غزة، وقف إطلاق النار، والمفاوضات مع إيران قبل انهيارها.
وتأتي الزيارة الحالية وسط تقارير عن خلافات داخلية أمريكية-إسرائيلية حول مدى التصعيد، خصوصا بعد ضربات إسرائيلية واسعة على منشآت النفط الإيرانية، مما أثار مخاوف واشنطن من تداعيات اقتصادية عالمية وارتفاع أسعار النفط فوق 115 دولاراً للبرميل.
Israeli media revealed an anticipated visit by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump and his former advisor, to Israel next Tuesday, amid the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.
According to a senior U.S. official quoted by Channel 12, the visit comes at a very sensitive time, as the U.S. administration has expressed concern over the scale and scope of Israeli strikes on Iranian oil facilities, indicating that the visit may aim to coordinate positions between Washington and Tel Aviv, discuss the limits of military escalation, and the possibility of reopening diplomatic channels or partial de-escalation.
The current war between the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran on the other, erupted in late February after the failure of recent nuclear negotiations in Geneva, Oman, and Switzerland.
Intensive U.S.-Israeli airstrikes began targeting Iranian nuclear, military, and oil facilities, followed by Iranian responses with ballistic missiles and drones targeting U.S. bases and interests in the region, as well as vital facilities in the Gulf Arab states, in addition to Jordan and Iraq.
Steve Witkoff is a businessman close to Trump and his special envoy for the Middle East, while Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and the architect of the Abraham Accords, is among the prominent envoys managing regional files in Trump's second administration.
They have previously made multiple visits to Israel in recent months to discuss issues related to Gaza, ceasefire, and negotiations with Iran before their collapse.
The current visit comes amid reports of internal U.S.-Israeli disagreements over the extent of escalation, especially following extensive Israeli strikes on Iranian oil facilities, raising concerns in Washington about potential global economic repercussions and oil prices exceeding $115 per barrel.
