عبر مدرب نادي الخليج جورجيوس دونيس عن استيائه من القرارات التحكيمية التي صاحبت لقاء فريقه بمستضيفه الاتحاد على ملعب مدينة الأمير عبدالله الفيصل بجدة، ضمن منافسات الجولة الـ(24) من الدوري السعودي للمحترفين (دوري روشن)، وانتهى بفوز الاتحاد بهدف دون رد. وأكد دونيس أن فريقه كان يستحق الحصول على ركلة جزاء، إضافة إلى طرد لاعب الاتحاد فابينيو، مشيراً إلى أن بعض القرارات أثرت بشكل مباشر على نتيجة المباراة. وقال في تصريح لافت: «أتمنى أن ينام الحكم جيداً الليلة». وشدد المدرب اليوناني على احترامه للجميع، لكنه أوضح في الوقت ذاته أن فريقه سيواصل القتال من أجل الحصول على حقوقه داخل الملعب، مضيفاً أن الأولوية تبقى لتقديم كرة قدم جميلة تعكس هوية الخليج.
وختم دونيس حديثه بالتأكيد على أن النتائج تغيرت بسبب التحكيم، سواء في مواجهة الاتحاد أو في اللقاء السابق أمام نادي نيوم.

He stated in a notable remark: "I hope the referee sleeps well tonight." The Greek coach emphasized his respect for everyone, but clarified at the same time that his team will continue to fight for their rights on the field, adding that the priority remains to present beautiful football that reflects the identity of Al-Khaleej.
Donis concluded his remarks by affirming that the results have changed due to refereeing, whether in the match against Al-Ittihad or in the previous encounter against Neom Club.
