من المتوقع أن يصل إجمالي إيرادات بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2026، المقرر إقامتها لأول مرة في ثلاث دول (الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك)، إلى 10.9 مليار دولار، ما يمثل طفرة اقتصادية غير مسبوقة في عالم الرياضة، وفقا لتقرير «Sport Value»، الذي بثه موقع الـ«» عبر شبكته العنكبوتية، وأشار التقرير إلى أن مونديال 2026 سيحقق زيادة بنسبة 56% مقارنة بنسخة قطر 2022 التي بلغت عوائدها 7 مليارات دولار، وفارقا شاسعا عن مونديال روسيا 2018 الذي بلغت إيراداته 5.3 مليار دولار، ووزع التقرير الأرباح القياسية على عدة قطاعات رئيسية، أهمها الحقوق التلفزيونية، وأفاد بأنها "ستتجاوز 4.2 مليار دولار (بزيادة 24% عن نسخة 2022)، ومن المتوقع أن تدر 2.8 مليار دولار، محطمة الرقم السابق بنسبة نمو تصل إلى 59%، فيما ستظهر القفزة الأكبر في التذاكر والضيافة، وستبلغ عوائدها 3 مليارات دولار، وهو ما يعادل مجموع دخل التذاكر في النسخ الست الماضية مجتمعة.
