شاءت الظروف أن تتوج لاعبة المنتخب الفرنسي لتزلج «جوليا سيمون» بالميدالية الذهبية في سباق البياثلون للسيدات لمسافة 15 كيلومترا، ضمن منافسات دورة الألعاب الأولمبية الشتوية «ميلانو كورتينا»، وهي المتهمة في قضية «نصب واحتيال» باستخدام بطاقة ائتمان إحدى زميلاتها في منتخب بلادها، وكذلك استخدام بيانات بطاقة أخصائية العلاج الطبيعي للفريق لإجراء عمليات شراء بين عامي 2021 و2022، رغم إنكارها «الجريمة» لمدة ثلاث سنوات، مدعيةً أنها ضحية سرقة هوية، قبل أن تعترف أخيراً بذنبها في جلسة استماع بالمحكمة، وتم تغريمها 15 ألف يورو وحُكم عليها بالسجن ثلاثة أشهر مع وقف التنفيذ، بعد إنفاقها أكثر من ألفي يورو خلال عمليات النصب.
وجوليا سيمون، البالغة من العمر 29 عامًا، أوضحت أنها ارتكبت أفعالا «غير مفهومة»، وأنها «تتعاون مع طبيب نفسي لفهم ما حدث»، وقالت: «أعترف بالاتهامات، لكنني لا أتذكر ارتكابها الأمر أشبه بفقدان الوعي».

She was fined 15,000 euros and sentenced to three months in prison, suspended, after spending over two thousand euros during the fraudulent activities.
Julia Simon, 29 years old, explained that she committed "incomprehensible" acts and that she is "working with a psychologist to understand what happened." She said, "I admit the charges, but I do not remember committing them; it feels like losing consciousness."
