تتجه أنظار عشاق الكرة الآسيوية نحو المملكة العربية السعودية لمتابعة بطولة كأس آسيا تحت 23 عاماً 2026 والتي ستنطلق يوم بعد غد (الثلاثاء)، بمشاركة 16 منتخباً يتنافسون على رفع الكأس القارية المرموقة.

تتويج اليابان بلقب نسخة 2024 جعلها أول منتخب يُحرز الكأس مرتين. والآن خاض الفريق مشواراً مميزاً في التصفيات، تصدّر خلاله المجموعة الثانية بسهولة مُسجلاً 11 هدفاً مقابل تلقيه هدفين فقط، لتحصل كتيبة المدرب غو أويوا على ثقة كبيرة لدخول البطولة بطموح أن تصبح أول من يحقق اللقب مرتين متتاليتين.
القوة الهجومية الأسترالية
رغم تألق اليابان، إلا أنها لم تكن المنتخب الأكثر تسجيلاً خلال التصفيات، إذ ذهبت هذه الأفضلية إلى أستراليا التي أحرزت 20 هدفاً. وجاء الأردن ثانياً بفارق هدف واحد، فيما كان منتخب قطر برصيد 17 هدفاً من أبرز المنتخبات تهديفياً أيضاً. في المقابل، كان منتخب فيتنام الأقل تسجيلاً بين متصدري المجموعات الـ11، بـ4 أهداف فقط.

3 مناطق قارية تابعة للاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم أنتجت أبطالاً في النسخ الست الماضية؛ إذ توّجت اليابان (2016 و2024) وجمهورية كوريا (2020) عن شرق آسيا، فيما حقق العراق (2013) والسعودية (2022) اللقب عن غرب آسيا، ورفع منتخب أوزبكستان راية وسط آسيا في عام 2018.
ولم يتأهل أي منتخب من جنوب آسيا إلى نسخة 2026 في السعودية، لكن اتحاد آسيان ممثلاً بتايلند وفيتنام، ستتجه الأنظار إليه لمحاولة تقديم تحدٍ حقيقي لمنطقة جنوب شرق آسيا.
جمهورية كوريا.. حضور لافت
لم تفشل جمهورية كوريا أبداً في تجاوز دور المجموعات في جميع مشاركاتها السابقة، وبلغت على الأقل الدور قبل النهائي في النسخ الأربع الأولى. وحتى اليابان، التي خرجت مرة واحدة من دور المجموعات، لا تضاهي هذا السجل المُميز لمنافستها من شرق آسيا.
قرغيزستان ولبنان ينضمان للمشهد
سيخوض منتخبا قرغيزستان ولبنان مشاركتهما الأولى في النهائيات، ليرتفع عدد المنتخبات التي شاركت في تاريخ البطولة إلى 27 منتخباً. وسيحاول المنتخبان تجاوز إنجاز إندونيسيا، التي أنهت مشاركتها الأولى قبل عامين في المركز الرابع.

Decisive Station
All 16 teams will focus their attention from the starting whistle on the final match, scheduled to take place at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, which will also host 9 other matches. Several matches will also be held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, while Riyadh will host matches at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium and Youth Stadium.
Will Japan win the title again?
Japan's victory in the 2024 edition made it the first team to win the cup twice. The team has had an impressive run in the qualifiers, easily topping Group B with 11 goals scored and only 2 conceded, giving Coach Go Oiwa's squad great confidence as they enter the tournament with the ambition of becoming the first to win the title consecutively.
Australia's Offensive Power
Despite Japan's brilliance, it was not the highest-scoring team during the qualifiers, as that honor went to Australia, which scored 20 goals. Jordan came in second, just one goal behind, while Qatar, with 17 goals, was also among the top scoring teams. In contrast, Vietnam was the lowest-scoring team among the 11 group leaders, with only 4 goals.
Perfect Qualifiers
Despite its low goal tally, Vietnam was among 7 teams that achieved a perfect record in the qualifiers. It was joined by Jordan (Group A), Japan (Group B), Qatar (Group H), Iran (Group I), South Korea (Group J), and Syria (Group K).

The teams that will face Australia, South Korea, and Vietnam will be up against a tough test, as all three teams secured their places in the finals without conceding any goals during the qualifiers.
Can Thailand or Vietnam make it happen?
Three continental regions under the Asian Football Confederation have produced champions in the last six editions; Japan (2016 and 2024) and South Korea (2020) from East Asia, while Iraq (2013) and Saudi Arabia (2022) claimed the title from West Asia, and Uzbekistan raised the flag for Central Asia in 2018.
No team from South Asia has qualified for the 2026 edition in Saudi Arabia, but the ASEAN representatives, Thailand and Vietnam, will be looked upon to attempt a real challenge from the Southeast Asian region.
South Korea.. A Notable Presence
South Korea has never failed to advance beyond the group stage in all its previous participations, reaching at least the semifinals in the first four editions. Even Japan, which has exited the group stage once, does not match this impressive record of its East Asian rival.

The teams of Kyrgyzstan and Lebanon will make their first appearances in the finals, raising the total number of teams that have participated in the tournament's history to 27. Both teams will try to surpass Indonesia's achievement, which finished fourth in its first participation two years ago.
