أعلن نادي القادسية تعاقده مع المدرب العالمي بريندان رودجرز، مديرًا فنيًا للفريق الأول لكرة القدم، في خطوة تعكس الرؤية الطموحة للنادي ومشروعه الرياضي المتنامي، الهادف إلى ترسيخ مكانته على المستويين المحلي والقاري. ويُعد رودجرز، المولود في أيرلندا الشمالية، أحد أبرز الأسماء التدريبية في كرة القدم الأوروبية، لما يمتلكه من سجل حافل في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز والمسابقات الأوروبية، إلى جانب سمعته المميزة في بناء الفرق التنافسالمدرب بريناية وتطوير اللاعبين، وتطبيق أسلوب لعب حديث يعتمد على الاستحواذ والهجوم المنظم.
وخلال مسيرته التدريبية، قاد رودجرز أكثر من 300 مباراة في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز مع عدد من الأندية الكبرى، وحقق إنجازات لافتة، أبرزها قيادته لليفربول إلى وصافة الدوري في إنجاز تاريخي، مع تسجيل الفريق رقمًا قياسيًا بلغ 101 هدف في موسم واحد، إضافة إلى تتويجه بكأس الاتحاد الإنجليزي مع ليستر سيتي عام 2021 لأول مرة في تاريخ النادي، فضلًا عن فترتين ناجحتين في اسكتلندا توّج خلالهما بـ11 بطولة كبرى مع نادي سيلتيك. سيرافق رودجرز في جهازه الفني كل من المدربين المساعدين جون كينيدي وجاك ليونز، إلى جانب مدربي الفريق الأول ألفارو غوميز ري وأنتولين مارتن، إضافة إلى مدرب الكرات الثابتة المتخصص إليوت تايبو.
ومن جهته، قال الرئيس التنفيذي لنادي القادسية جيمس بيسجروف: «بعد عملية استقطاب عالمية دقيقة، يسعدنا الترحيب ببريندان رودجرز في مدينة الخبر مديرًا فنيًا جديدًا للفريق الأول. تمثل هذه الخطوة محطة مفصلية في مسيرة النادي، حيث يعكس حجم خبراته وسجله الحافل بالإنجازات طموحنا ورؤيتنا طويلة المدى لتأسيس القادسية كأحد أبرز الأندية في قارة آسيا».
وأضاف: «بدعم من مجلس الإدارة، وبوجود مجموعة مميزة من اللاعبين، وجهاز فني على مستوى عالمي، إلى جانب جماهيرنا الشغوفة، نتطلع بحماس إلى دخول المرحلة القادمة من تطور النادي».
من جانبه، قال المدير الرياضي لنادي القادسية كارلوس أنتون: «نسعد بانضمام بريندان رودجرز إلى نادي القادسية، ونؤمن بأن خبراته التدريبية الرفيعة وفلسفته الفنية تتماشى بشكل مثالي مع استراتيجيتنا الكروية. ويبدأ بريندان مهمته مع مجموعة غنية بالمواهب، تمتلك الطموح والرغبة في صناعة الإنجازات، وأنا على ثقة بقدرته على قيادة المرحلة القادمة من تطور النادي، كما سيعمل بتناغم كامل مع إدارات الأداء، والطب الرياضي، والاستقطاب، والتحليل، للإسهام في الارتقاء بالنادي إلى مستويات أعلى».
Al-Qadisiyah Club announced its contract with the world-renowned coach Brendan Rodgers as the head coach of the first football team, in a move that reflects the club's ambitious vision and its growing sports project aimed at establishing its position at both the local and continental levels. Rodgers, born in Northern Ireland, is considered one of the most prominent coaching names in European football, due to his impressive track record in the Premier League and European competitions, along with his distinguished reputation in building competitive teams and developing players, and applying a modern playing style based on possession and organized attacking.
Throughout his coaching career, Rodgers has led over 300 matches in the Premier League with several major clubs, achieving notable accomplishments, most notably leading Liverpool to the league's runner-up position in a historic achievement, with the team scoring a record 101 goals in a single season, in addition to winning the FA Cup with Leicester City in 2021 for the first time in the club's history, as well as two successful periods in Scotland during which he won 11 major titles with Celtic. Joining Rodgers in his coaching staff are assistant coaches John Kennedy and Jack Lyons, along with first team coaches Alvaro Gomez Ri and Antolin Martin, in addition to specialist set-piece coach Elliot Taibo.
For his part, Al-Qadisiyah Club's CEO James Piesgrove said: "After a precise global recruitment process, we are pleased to welcome Brendan Rodgers to Khobar as the new head coach of the first team. This step represents a pivotal moment in the club's journey, as the extent of his experience and his record of achievements reflects our ambition and long-term vision to establish Al-Qadisiyah as one of the leading clubs in Asia."
