مدد النادي الأهلي عقد حارسه السنغالي إدواردو ميندي، لمدة موسمين ونصف، ليستمر مع الفريق حتى 2028. وأوضح النادي في بيان رسمي نشره على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «X»، أن تجديد عقد ميندي البالغ من العمر 33 عاماً، يأتي ضمن خطته للحفاظ على القوام الأساسي للفريق. ونشر النادي فيديو خاصاً للإعلان عن تمديد عقد ميندي حمل عنوان: «أبواب القلعة في أيدٍ أمينة.. القائد مستمر حتى 2028»، في إشارة إلى الثقة الكبيرة التي يحظى بها ميندي كعنصر قيادي وحارس أساسي في الفريق.
وكان ميندي قد انضم إلى الأهلي في صيف 2023 قادماً من تشيلسي الإنجليزي، بعقد يمتد حتى 2026، قبل أن يمدد اليوم، ليواصل مسيرته في الدوري السعودي للمحترفين.
ويعد إدواردو ميندي من الركائز الأساسية في صفوف الأهلي، وساهم في الحفاظ على توازن الفريق في الموسم الحالي الذي يحتل فيه الأهلي المركز الرابع في جدول الترتيب برصيد 19 نقطة.

Mendy joined Al Ahly in the summer of 2023 from Chelsea FC, with a contract that extended until 2026, before being extended today, allowing him to continue his career in the Saudi Professional League.
Eduardo Mendy is considered one of the key pillars of Al Ahly, contributing to the team's balance in the current season, where Al Ahly is in fourth place in the standings with 19 points.
