رعى أمير منطقة المدينة المنورة الأمير سلمان بن سلطان بن عبدالعزيز، المباراة النهائية لبطولة كأس التميّز للمحافظات، التي تنظمها مؤسسة جائزة المدينة في دورتها السادسة، على ملعب مدينة الأمير محمد بن عبدالعزيز الرياضية.
وتوّج الأمير سلمان بن سلطان منتخب محافظة العيص بكأس البطولة والميداليات الذهبية، فيما حلّ منتخب محافظة بدر في المركز الثاني ونال الميداليات الفضية.
وأوضح أمين عام مجلس المنطقة أمين عام مؤسسة جائزة المدينة المنورة المهندس محمد عباس، أن رعاية أمير المنطقة تعكس دعمه الكبير للرياضة والشباب، مشيراً إلى أن البطولة نجحت في تحقيق مستهدفاتها الاجتماعية والرياضية، وأسهمت في اكتشاف مواهب رياضية واعدة من محافظات المنطقة، بما يفتح أمامها آفاقاً مستقبلية للاحتراف في الأندية.
وأكد عباس، أن البطولة تمثل منصة لتعزيز روح التنافس الإيجابي والإبداع بين الشباب، واستثمار أوقاتهم في أنشطة مفيدة، معرباً عن شكره لأمير منطقة المدينة المنورة على رعايته ودعمه المتواصل لهذه الأنشطة والمبادرات.
يُذكر أن البطولة، التي تُعدُّ الأولى من نوعها على مستوى مناطق المملكة، انطلقت بمشاركة ثمانية منتخبات تمثل جميع محافظات منطقة المدينة المنورة، وشهدت منافسات حافلة بالندية والروح الأخوية، محققة نجاحاً لافتاً على الصعيدين الرياضي والتنظيمي.
The Prince of the Medina region, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, sponsored the final match of the Excellence Cup for the provinces, organized by the Medina Prize Foundation in its sixth edition, at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium.
Prince Salman bin Sultan awarded the Al-‘Ays Governorate team with the championship trophy and gold medals, while the Badr Governorate team secured second place and received silver medals.
The Secretary-General of the Regional Council and Secretary-General of the Medina Prize Foundation, Engineer Mohammed Abbas, explained that the Prince's sponsorship reflects his significant support for sports and youth, noting that the tournament succeeded in achieving its social and sports objectives and contributed to discovering promising sports talents from the region's provinces, opening up future prospects for them to turn professional in clubs.
Abbas emphasized that the tournament represents a platform to enhance positive competition and creativity among youth, and to invest their time in beneficial activities, expressing his gratitude to the Prince of Medina for his continuous sponsorship and support for these activities and initiatives.
It is worth mentioning that the tournament, which is the first of its kind at the level of the Kingdom's regions, kicked off with the participation of eight teams representing all provinces of the Medina region, witnessing fierce competitions filled with camaraderie and achieving remarkable success on both the sports and organizational levels.
