امتدح رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) جياني إنفانتينو حفل افتتاح بطولة كأس العرب FIFA قطر، الذي احتضنه استاد البيت بمدينة الخور، بحضور أمير قطر الشيخ تميم بن حمد، وعدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء ورؤساء وفود الدول العربية الشقيقة، وعدد من أصحاب السعادة السفراء ورؤساء البعثات الدبلوماسية المعتمدين لدى الدولة، ورؤساء اتحادات كرة القدم، وممثلي المنظمات الحكومية وغير الحكومية وضيوف البطولة. وشمل الافتتاح عروضاً فنية مبهرة وفقرات موسيقية ملهمة، بمشاركة مميزة من الفنان السوري القدير رشيد عساف، والممثل البريطاني الشهير جيريمي آيرونز، إذ قال إنفانتينو:«ستجمع كأس العرب FIFA قطر 2025 شعوب العالم العربي تحت مظلتها، وستصنع ذكريات لا تنسى للاعبين والمدربين والمشجعين وأتطلع إلى الأداء الرائع للمنتخبات الـ16 المشاركة في الحدث الرياضي الذي يشكل قمة كروية عربية بامتياز».
وتابع: «بعد نجاح دولة قطر في تحقيق استضافة تاريخية لنسخة هذا العام من كأس العالم تحت 17 سنة، والتي عززت السجل الحافل للدولة في استضافة الأحداث الرياضية المرموقة، ومع اقتراب انطلاق كأس القارات للأندية خلال الشهر الجاري، تواصل دولة قطر الارتقاء بمعايير استضافة البطولات الكبرى، حيث تثبت في كل مرة الكفاءة المبهرة في التنظيم مع الشغف بالكرم وحسن الضيافة».
وتستضيف دولة قطر كأس العرب خلال الفترة من 1 وحتى 18 ديسمبر الجاري بمشاركة 16 منتخباً. وتقام المباريات في 6 استادات مونديالية شهدت منافسات خلال البطولة التاريخية كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022. ويحتضن استاد لوسيل الأيقوني المباراة النهائية في 18 ديسمبر.
The President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, praised the opening ceremony of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar, which took place at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, in the presence of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, a number of esteemed ministers and heads of delegations from brotherly Arab countries, several esteemed ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the state, heads of football federations, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, and guests of the tournament. The opening featured stunning artistic performances and inspiring musical segments, with a special participation from the esteemed Syrian artist Rachid Assaf and the famous British actor Jeremy Irons. Infantino stated, "The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 will bring together the peoples of the Arab world under its umbrella, creating unforgettable memories for players, coaches, and fans, and I look forward to the outstanding performance of the 16 teams participating in this sporting event, which represents an exceptional Arab football summit."
He continued, "Following Qatar's successful historic hosting of this year's Under-17 World Cup, which enhanced the country's impressive record in hosting prestigious sporting events, and with the upcoming launch of the Club World Cup this month, Qatar continues to elevate the standards of hosting major tournaments, proving each time its remarkable efficiency in organization along with a passion for generosity and hospitality."
Qatar is hosting the Arab Cup from December 1 to 18, with the participation of 16 teams. The matches will take place in 6 World Cup stadiums that witnessed competitions during the historic FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The iconic Lusail Stadium will host the final match on December 18.
