أكد الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم إجراء سلسلة «فيفا 2026» خلال فترة المباريات الدولية المقررة بين مارس وأبريل من العام المقبل، مقدماً للمنتخبات من مختلف الاتحادات القارية منصة فريدة من نوعها للتنافس والتواصل في سياق يتخطى الحدود التقليدية للاتحادات القارية.
وبعد النسخة التجريبية الناجحة في مارس 2024، سيجري تطبيق هذه المبادرة بصورة أوسع في سلسلة «فيفا 2026»، التي ستشهد مشاركة العديد من الاتحادات الوطنية، والمزيد من الدول المستضيفة، فضلاً عن إقامة نسخة مخصصة لمنتخبات السيدات للمرة الأولى، إذ صممت هذه النسخة الموسعة لتسهيل المباريات الدولية، والإسهام بصورة مباشرة في تطوير كرة القدم عبر العالم.
وتتوافق سلسلة «فيفا» مع أهداف الاتحاد الدولي الإستراتيجية للعبة عبر العالم: 2027-2023 التي ترتكز على خلق المزيد من الفرص لتحقيق التوازن على مستوى المنافسات والتطوير الفني وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف عبر القارات، بحيث يقدم نظام السلسلة مساراً للمنتخبات الوطنية المشاركة التي نادراً ما تواجه منتخبات من قارات أخرى.
وقال رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم جياني إنفانتينو: «نسعى من خلال هذه السلسة إلى منح فرصة التطور للاعبين واللاعبات والمدربين والمدربات والجماهير، وفي الوقت نفسه الترويج لما تنطوي عليه كرة القدم من بعد عالمي ومن خصائص تتوخى الشمولية، وذلك من خلال المباريات القيمة، وستساعد نسخة 2026 على تعزيز هذا التأثير بالنسبة للاعبين واللاعبات على حدٍّ سواء».
وستضم سلسلة «فيفا» لمنتخبات الرجال مجموعة من المباريات الودية التي تستضيفها أستراليا وأذربيجان وإندونيسيا وكازاخستان وموريشيوس وبورتوريكو ورواندا وأوزبكستان، وما تزال المحادثات مستمرة مع عدد من الاتحادات الوطنية الأعضاء الأخرى التي قد تنضم إلى لائحة البلدان المستضيفة في الأشهر القليلة المقبلة.
أما سلسلة «فيفا» لمنتخبات السيدات فستنطلق من البرازيل وكوت ديفوار وتايلند، على أن يكشف النقاب عن القائمة الكاملة للدول المضيفة والمشاركة في مطلع عام 2026.
يذكر أن مجلس «فيفا» صادق في ديسمبر 2022 على مقترح إطلاق سلسلة «فيفا» التي تتيح أيضاً للبلدان التي تسعى إلى ترك بصمة في عالم كرة القدم إمكانية خوض تجربة التنافس على المستوى الدولي في ظروف مماثلة لتلك التي تقام فيها بعض البطولات الكبرى، ما يشجع المضي قدماً في عملية التطوير على المستويين الفني والتنظيمي.
The International Football Federation confirmed the organization of the "FIFA 2026" series during the scheduled international match window between March and April of next year, providing teams from various continental federations with a unique platform for competition and communication in a context that transcends the traditional boundaries of continental federations.
Following a successful trial version in March 2024, this initiative will be implemented on a broader scale in the "FIFA 2026" series, which will see the participation of many national federations, more host countries, as well as the establishment of a dedicated version for women's teams for the first time. This expanded version is designed to facilitate international matches and directly contribute to the development of football worldwide.
The "FIFA" series aligns with the strategic goals of the International Federation for the game worldwide: 2023-2027, which focuses on creating more opportunities for achieving balance in competitions, technical development, and the exchange of experiences and knowledge across continents, providing a pathway for participating national teams that rarely face teams from other continents.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated: "Through this series, we aim to provide development opportunities for players, coaches, and fans, while promoting the global dimension of football and its inclusive characteristics through valuable matches. The 2026 edition will help enhance this impact for both male and female players."
The "FIFA" series for men's teams will include a series of friendly matches hosted by Australia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Puerto Rico, Rwanda, and Uzbekistan, with ongoing discussions with several other member national federations that may join the list of host countries in the coming months.
As for the "FIFA" series for women's teams, it will kick off from Brazil, Ivory Coast, and Thailand, with the complete list of host and participating countries to be revealed in early 2026.
It is worth noting that the "FIFA" Council approved in December 2022 the proposal to launch the "FIFA" series, which also allows countries seeking to make an impact in the world of football to experience competition at the international level under conditions similar to those in which some major tournaments are held, encouraging progress in both technical and organizational development.
