كرّم رئيس الاتحاد السعودي للدراجات عبدالعزيز بن علي الشهراني، بحضور أعضاء مجلس الإدارة، لاعب المنتخب السعودي للدراجات طه الخليفة، بعد تحقيقه الميدالية البرونزية في سباق الفردي العام لمسافة (99.06) كيلومتر، ضمن منافسات دورة الألعاب الآسيوية الثالثة للشباب التي أُقيمت أخيرًا في العاصمة البحرينية المنامة، أول ميدالية «آسياد» في تاريخ الدراجة السعودية.
وجرى التكريم على هامش بطولة العالم للدراجات الحضرية 2025 المقامة حاليًا في الرياض، إذ ثمّن الشهراني الإنجاز التاريخي الذي حققه الخليفة، مؤكدًا أن ما قدمه اللاعب يعكس تطور رياضة الدراجات في المملكة، إحدى ثمرات الدعم غير المحدود من القيادة الرشيدة.
وأشار إلى أن وزارة الرياضة، واللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية، والاتحاد السعودي للدراجات، تولي اهتمامًا كبيرًا بالمواهب الشابة من خلال تمكينها للمنافسة القارية والعالمية، لافتًا إلى أن هذا الإنجاز حافز لجميع لاعبي المنتخب لمواصلة تحقيق المزيد من النجاحات والنتائج المشرفة في البطولات القادمة.
The President of the Saudi Cycling Federation, Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Shahrani, honored the Saudi national cycling team player, Taha Al-Khalifa, in the presence of the board members, after he won the bronze medal in the individual road race over a distance of (99.06) kilometers, during the recently held third Asian Youth Games in the Bahraini capital, Manama, marking the first "Asian Games" medal in the history of Saudi cycling.
The honoring took place on the sidelines of the 2025 Urban Cycling World Championships currently held in Riyadh, where Al-Shahrani praised the historic achievement made by Al-Khalifa, emphasizing that the player's performance reflects the development of cycling in the Kingdom, one of the fruits of the unlimited support from the wise leadership.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Sports, the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and the Saudi Cycling Federation place great importance on young talents by empowering them to compete at continental and global levels, noting that this achievement serves as an incentive for all national team players to continue achieving more successes and honorable results in upcoming championships.
