خطف فريق الاتحاد نقطة ثمينة من فريق الخليج بعد أن تمكن من العودة للمباراة التي شهدت تقدم الخليج طيلة شوطي المواجهة قبل أن يعود العميد المتأثر بالنقص العددي لتسجيل هدف التعادل في الثانية الأخيرة من عمر المباراة لتنتهي المواجهة بالتعادل بـ4 أهداف لكلا الفريقين في اللقاء الذي جمع الفريقين ضمن مباريات الجولة السابعة من مسابقة دوري روشن للمحترفين، التي أقيمت على أرضية ملعب الأمير محمد بن فهد.
وجاءت أهداف الخليج الأربعة عن طريق النرويجي جوشو كينغ (هدفين)، واليوناني كوستاس فورتونيس هدفين، في حين سجل أهداف الاتحاد موسي ديابي (هدفين)، وماريو ميتاي (هدف)، وفيصل الغامدي هدف).
وبهذه النتيجة ارتفع رصيد الاتحاد إلى النقطة 11 في المركز الثامن بجدول ترتيب دوري روشن للمحترفين، وحل الخليج سابعاً برصيد 11 نقطة.
وشهد اللقاء طرد البرازيلي فابينهو تفاريس بعد مرور نصف ساعة من عمر اللقاء، وأكمل الاتحاد المباراة بـ10 لاعبين، وتمكنت كتيبة البرتغالي سيرجو كونسيساو من تحقيق النتائج الإيجابية على الرغم من النقص العددي للفريق.
