فيما يدخل فريق غوا الهندي هذا اللقاء متذيلاً فرق المجموعة بلا نقاط بعد أن تلقى خسارتين أمام الزوراء العراقي واستقلول دوشنبه وبذات النتيجة (2/ 0)، ويطمح للخروج بنتيجة إيجابية لإبقاء آماله في المنافسة على حصد البطاقة الثانية على أقل تقدير.
ورغم غياب الأسطورة البرتغالية كريستيانو رونالدو عن اللقاء وعدم مغادرته مع الفريق إلى الهند، إلا أن فريق النصر هو الأقرب للفوز والعودة بالنقاط الثلاث لما يملكه من أسماء كبيرة مقارنةً بالفريق الهندي المتواضع الذي لم يتمكن من تسجيل أي هدف في البطولة إلى الآن.
