According to sources, "Okaz" learned that Saudi national team player and Al-Ittihad club member Abdulrahman Al-Aboud will enter the six-month "free" period in January 2026, during which the player is allowed to sign with any club, as his contract with his current club will end in June 2026.
The sources indicated that the sports administration at Al-Ittihad club is seeking to extend Abdulrahman Al-Aboud's contract, as the player does not mind extending his contract with the club. Negotiations are ongoing to reach an agreement on all terms of the new contract regarding financial details and the duration of the new contract. The Al-Ittihad administration aims to finalize the player's contract renewal before he enters the "free" period, to prevent clubs that wish to acquire the player's services in early 2026.
It is worth mentioning that Abdulrahman Al-Aboud was excluded from the Saudi national team camp in Jeddah on October 10, following a decision by coach Renard, after medical examinations revealed an injury to his jaw. Al-Aboud was referred to a specialist doctor at a hospital in Jeddah to determine the appropriate treatment plan, and coordination took place between the medical teams of the Saudi national team and Al-Ittihad club according to the procedures followed in such cases. Currently, the player is continuing his treatment program.
It is noted that Abdulrahman Al-Aboud renewed his contract with Al-Ittihad club in October 2022 for three years, which will end in June 2026.
