حقق العين الإماراتي بداية قوية في مشواره بدوري أبطال الخليج للأندية، بعدما تفوّق على نظيره سترة البحريني بأربعة أهداف مقابل هدف، في المباراة التي أقيمت بينهما مساء اليوم (الثلاثاء) على استاد هزاع بن زايد ضمن الجولة الأولى من منافسات المجموعة الأولى.
المباراة بدأت بسيطرة عيناوية أثمرت الهدف الأول (د:21) عندما سجّل مدافع سترة بالخطأ في مرماه، قبل أن ينجح الفريق البحريني في العودة وتعديل النتيجة عبر لاعبه كارلوس (د:40)، لينتهي الشوط الأول بالتعادل (1-1).
وفي الشوط الثاني فرض العين أفضليته من خلال الهجوم المتواصل وكثرة المحاولات الخطرة، ليهز شباك منافسه بثلاثية متتالية عبر يوسف سليمان (د:81)، سفيان رحيمي (د:88)، ومونتيري (د:92)، ليحسم المواجهة لصالحه بنتيجة (4-1).
وبهذا الفوز يضع العين أول ثلاث نقاط في رصيده ضمن المجموعة، مؤكداً طموحه الكبير في المنافسة على بطاقة التأهل، فيما سيكون فريق سترة مطالباً بتدارك خسارته في الجولة القادمة.
