توج فريق الخليج لكرة اليد بلقب كأس السوبر السعودي للمرة الثالثة في تاريخه، بعد مباراة مثيرة مع منافسه الهدى انتهت بفارق هدف واحد فقط (22 – 21)، وأقيمت على صالة الأمير نايف بالقطيف، وتمكن من خلالها الخليج من استعادة الكأس الذي فقده الموسم الماضي.
بدأ الخليج المواجهة بقوة، وتمكن من توسيع الفارق إلى 4 نقاط في بعض دقائق الشوط الأول، قبل أن يقلص الهدى الفارق تدريجياً ليصل إلى هدف واحد عند نهاية الشوط، حيث انتهى بتقدم الخليج (12 – 11).
ومع بداية الشوط الثاني، واصل الخليج سيطرته ووسع الفارق مجدداً إلى 4 نقاط، لكن الهدى لم يستسلم وفرض أجواء التوتر في الدقائق العشر الأخيرة، قبل أن يحسم الخليج المباراة بفارق هدف واحد ويعتلي منصة التتويج.
ويعتبر هذا التتويج هو الثالث تاريخياً للخليج في كأس السوبر السعودي، بعد أن توج مضر بالنسخة الأولى، بينما ذهب لقب النسخة الرابعة في الموسم الماضي لصالح الهدى.
وفي ختام البطولة، قام رئيس مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة اليد حسن بن نصر هلال، بتسليم كأس البطولة لفريق الخليج، كما تم تكريم حكام اللقاء، فيما تسلّم فريق الهدى الميداليات الفضية عبر عضو مجلس الإدارة فريد الصالح.

The Gulf handball team won the Saudi Super Cup title for the third time in its history, after an exciting match against its rival Al-Huda that ended with a margin of just one goal (22 – 21). The match took place at the Prince Naif Hall in Qatif, allowing Gulf to reclaim the cup it lost last season.
The Gulf team started the match strongly and managed to extend the lead to 4 points at certain moments in the first half, before Al-Huda gradually narrowed the gap to just one goal by the end of the half, which concluded with Gulf leading (12 – 11).
With the start of the second half, Gulf continued to dominate and once again widened the lead to 4 points, but Al-Huda did not give up and created a tense atmosphere in the last ten minutes, before Gulf secured the victory by a margin of one goal and ascended to the podium.
This victory marks the third in Gulf's history in the Saudi Super Cup, after Mudar won the first edition, while the title of the fourth edition last season went to Al-Huda.
At the end of the tournament, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Handball Federation, Hassan bin Nasr Hilal, presented the championship trophy to the Gulf team, and the referees of the match were honored, while the Al-Huda team received silver medals through board member Farid Al-Saleh.
