نفى النجم البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو مزاعم شقيقته كاتيا بأنه اتخذ قرار الاعتزال الدولي عقب انتهاء مشاركته في بطولة كأس العالم 2026، المقامة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك.
وكانت كاتيا أفيرو قد أثارت جدلاً واسعاً قبل مباراة البرتغال وكرواتيا، إذ قالت: «وفقاً للمعلومات التي لدي، يمكنكم توديع رونالدو، لكن ليس نهائياً، أتحدث عن المنتخب البرتغالي».
«لم أحسم مستقبلي بعد»
وقال رونالدو، في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة «ذا صن» البريطانية: «مستقبلي ليس مهماً الآن، سيكون لدي وقت للتفكير، سواء فزت أو خسرت، سأتحدث مع عائلتي، ثم أتخذ القرار الأفضل».
وأضاف الدون: «لم أعد أتخذ القرارات في لحظة انفعال، الآن، كل شيء يتم بهدوء، والأمر يتعلق بالاستمتاع بالحاضر».
الدون يواصل كتابة التاريخ
وساهم رونالدو في تأهل البرتغال إلى دور الـ16 من مونديال 2026، إذ سجل هدفاً من ركلة جزاء في الفوز على كرواتيا بنتيجة 2-1.
وبحسب شبكة «سكواكا» المتخصصة في إحصاءات كرة القدم، بات رونالدو أكبر لاعب في تاريخ كأس العالم يشارك في مباراة إقصائية، بعمر 41 عاماً و147 يوماً، كما دوّن اسمه كأكبر لاعب يسجل هدفاً في الأدوار الإقصائية بتاريخ المونديال.
وواصل قائد النصر ومنتخب البرتغال، البالغ من العمر 41 عاماً، تحطيم الأرقام القياسية، ليصبح أول لاعب في تاريخ كرة القدم يسجل 25 هدفاً أو أكثر في بطولات كأس العالم وكأس أمم أوروبا.
