أكد رئيس الاتحاد الياباني لكرة القدم تسونياسو مياموتو، تمسك بلاده بالبقاء ضمن منظومة الاتحاد الآسيوي، نافيًا بشكل قاطع وجود أي نية للانضمام إلى أي تكتل خارج الإطار القاري.
وأوضح مياموتو أن «اليابان جزء أصيل من عائلة كرة القدم الآسيوية وتسعى لتطوير اللعبة في القارة»، مشددًا على أن الاتحاد الياباني «لم يناقش مطلقًا فكرة الانفصال».
وأشار إلى أن كرة القدم الآسيوية تشهد تطورًا كبيرًا بفضل الاستثمارات الضخمة في البنى التحتية والبرامج الفنية، مؤكدًا أن اليابان تواصل الاستثمار في الفئات السنية للحفاظ على مكانتها ومنافسة أفضل المنتخبات عالميًا.
مؤكدًا في الوقت ذاته إلى أن المنافسة في آسيا باتت أكثر صعوبة مع تطور كرة القدم في العديد من الدول، «لكن ذلك يدفع اليابان لمواصلة التحدي والسعي المستمر نحو الفوز بالألقاب القارية، وفي مقدمتها كأس آسيا التي تسعى اليابان لاستعادتها منذ عام 2011».
The President of the Japan Football Association, Tsuneyasu Miyamoto, confirmed his country's commitment to remaining within the Asian Football Confederation, firmly denying any intention to join any bloc outside the continental framework.
Miyamoto explained that "Japan is an integral part of the Asian football family and is striving to develop the game on the continent," emphasizing that the Japan Football Association "has never discussed the idea of separation."
He pointed out that Asian football is witnessing significant development thanks to massive investments in infrastructure and technical programs, confirming that Japan continues to invest in youth categories to maintain its position and compete with the best teams globally.
At the same time, he affirmed that competition in Asia has become more challenging with the development of football in many countries, "but this drives Japan to continue the challenge and the ongoing pursuit of winning continental titles, foremost among them the AFC Asian Cup, which Japan has been striving to reclaim since 2011."
