أعلن الاتحاد الماليزي لكرة القدم، أمس (الثلاثاء)، أنه سيستأنف ضد العقوبات التي فرضها عليه الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا)، بعد اتهامه بالتزوير في مستندات بعض اللاعبين.
وكان «فيفا» قد أعلن في سبتمبر الماضي إيقاف سبعة لاعبين من مواليد الخارج، شاركوا جميعاً مع المنتخب الماليزي في الفوز 4-0 على فيتنام في يونيو الماضي، ضمن تصفيات كأس آسيا 2027، لمدة 12 شهراً، كما فرض غرامة مالية قدرها 438 ألف دولار على الاتحاد الماليزي، مشيراً إلى وجود وثائق مزورة أو معدّلة.
وفي بيان رسمي، نفى الاتحاد الماليزي تلك الاتهامات، مؤكداً أن الادعاءات حول تزوير اللاعبين «لا تستند إلى أي أدلة قاطعة حتى الآن».
وأضاف البيان: «يؤكد الاتحاد الماليزي لكرة القدم أن اللاعبين المعنيين هم مواطنون ماليزيون شرعيون، ولم يحصلوا على جنسياتهم بطرق غير قانونية».
وأشار الاتحاد إلى أن ما حدث كان مجرد «خطأ إداري في تقديم الوثائق»، مؤكداً أنه يستعد لاستئناف القرار من خلال تقديم وثائق أصلية تم التصديق عليها رسمياً من قبل الحكومة الماليزية، مع التأكيد على التزامه الكامل بالحفاظ على نزاهة كرة القدم الوطنية، والاحتكام إلى الحقائق والوثائق الموثوقة.
The Malaysian Football Association announced yesterday (Tuesday) that it will appeal against the sanctions imposed on it by FIFA, after being accused of falsifying documents for some players.
FIFA had announced last September the suspension of seven players born abroad, all of whom participated with the Malaysian national team in the 4-0 victory over Vietnam last June, as part of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, for a period of 12 months. It also imposed a financial penalty of $438,000 on the Malaysian association, indicating the presence of forged or altered documents.
In an official statement, the Malaysian association denied those accusations, affirming that the allegations regarding player forgery "are not based on any conclusive evidence so far."
The statement added: "The Malaysian Football Association confirms that the players in question are legitimate Malaysian citizens and did not obtain their citizenship through illegal means."
The association pointed out that what happened was merely a "administrative error in submitting the documents," confirming that it is preparing to appeal the decision by providing original documents officially certified by the Malaysian government, while emphasizing its full commitment to maintaining the integrity of national football and adhering to facts and reliable documents.
