تأهل منتخب الأرجنتين لدور الـ16 في كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة FIFA تشيلي 2025™ بعد فوزه الكبير على منتخب أستراليا بنتيجة 4/ 1 في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على ملعب إلياس فيغيروا براندر وذلك ضمن لقاءات الجولة الثانية للمجموعة الرابعة.
أحرز أهداف الأرجنتين الأربعة كل من: أليخو ساركو (د: 3)، توماس بيريز (د: 45)، إيان سوبيابري (د: 90+3)، سانتينو أندينو (د: 90+5)، فيما جاء هدف أستراليا الوحيد عن طريق دانييل بيني (د: 69).
شهد اللقاء بداية قوية لمنتخب الأرجنتين، إذ انطلق أليخو ساركو خلف الدفاع وسدد الكرة بقدمه إلى الشباك (د: 3)، وكاد المنتخب الأسترالي أن يعود إلى اللقاء بعدما أفتك تياغو كوينتال الكرة من ميلتون ديلغادو داخل المنطقة ورفعها فوق الحارس سانتينو باربي، لكن وبعد المراجعة أُلغي الهدف بداعي المخالفة، لترد الأرجنتين بهدف ثانٍ بعد تمريرة عرضية من ماهر كاريزو حولها توماس بيريز بسهولة في المرمى (د: 45)، وتمكن المنتخب الأسترالي من العودة إلى أجواء اللقاء حين خرج حارس الأرجنتين سانتينو باربي من منطقته ولم ينجح في إبعاد الكرة، ليستغل دانييل بيني الموقف ويودعها في المرمى الخالي (د: 69)، ساهم هذا الهدف في ضغط المنتخب الأسترالي من أجل التعادل لكنه تلقى هدفًا ثالثًا بعدما حوّل إيان سوبيابري كرة عرضية إلى الشباك (د: 90+3)، قبل أن يضع سانتينو أندينو لمسته الختامية بهدف صاروخي من على حدود المنطقة (د: 90+5)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز الأرجنتين بأربعة أهداف لهدف.
وبهذه النتيجة يحقق الأرجنتين فوزه الثاني ويصل للنقطة السادسة متصدراً المجموعة الرابعة ويتأهل رسمياً لثمن نهائي المونديال، فيما تلقى أستراليا الخسارة الثانية وبقي بدون نقاط وفي المركز الرابع والأخير.

The Argentina national team qualified for the Round of 16 in the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025™ after their significant victory over the Australia national team with a score of 4/1 in the match held at the Elías Figueroa Brander Stadium, as part of the second round of Group D.
Argentina's four goals were scored by: Alejo Sarco (3'), Tomás Pérez (45'), Ian Subiabre (90+3'), and Santino Andino (90+5'), while Australia's only goal came from Daniel Penny (69').
The match witnessed a strong start from the Argentina team, as Alejo Sarco broke through the defense and shot the ball into the net (3'). Australia nearly returned to the match when Thiago Quintal stole the ball from Milton Delgado inside the area and lifted it over goalkeeper Santino Barbi, but after review, the goal was disallowed for a foul. Argentina responded with a second goal after a cross from Maher Carizzo, which Tomás Pérez easily converted into the net (45'). The Australian team managed to get back into the game when Argentina's goalkeeper Santino Barbi left his area and failed to clear the ball, allowing Daniel Penny to take advantage of the situation and slot it into the empty net (69'). This goal increased the pressure on the Australian team to equalize, but they conceded a third goal when Ian Subiabre converted a cross into the net (90+3'). Santino Andino then capped off the match with a rocket goal from the edge of the area (90+5'), ending the match with Argentina winning four goals to one.
With this result, Argentina secures their second victory and reaches six points, topping Group D and officially qualifying for the Round of 16 of the tournament, while Australia suffers their second loss, remaining with no points in fourth and last place.
