صنعت كوبا التاريخ بحصدها أول نقطة في تاريخ مشاركاتها بكأس العالم FIFA تحت 20 سنة بعدما عادت من تأخر بهدفين لتتعادل مع إيطاليا التي لعبت بعشرة لاعبين في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على ملعب فالبارايسو ضمن لقاءات المجموعة الرابعة.
أحرز هدفَي إيطاليا أندريا ناتالي (د:14) وجمال إدريسو (د:31)، فيما أحرز هدفَي كوبا مايكل كاميخو من ركلتي جزاء (د:70، 87).
شهد اللقاء تقدّم الأزوري أولاً عندما تابع قلب الدفاع أندريا ناتالي الكرة من مسافة قريبة وأسكنها الشباك (د:14)، ثم ضاعف جمال إدريسو النتيجة بلمسة رائعة إثر عرضية من كريستيان كاما (د:31)، وكادت إيطاليا توسّع الفارق أكثر، لكن المباراة انقلبت عليها بعدما تلقى جمال إدريسو البطاقة الصفراء الثانية في الوقت بدل الضائع من الشوط الأول، إثر خطأ على جايد كوينونيس لينال إدريسو البطاقة الحمراء (د:45+3).
استغلت كوبا النقص العددي، وتحصلت على ركلة جزاء بعد مراجعة تقنية الفيديو، إذ اعتُبر أن ناتالي ارتكب مخالفة بالمرفق على ماركوس كامبوس داخل المنطقة، لينفذ مايكل كاميخو الركلة بثبات ويقلص الفارق. ولم تمضِ فترة طويلة حتى تكرر السيناريو، إذ عوقب كريستيان كورادي بعد مراجعة أخرى بسبب دفعه لديدييه رينوسو، ليتقدم كاميخو مجدداً وينفذ الركلة بهدوء، مانحاً كوبا تعادلاً تاريخياً.
وبهذه النتيجة تحقق إيطاليا التعادل الأول وتصل للنقطة الرابعة بعد فوزها في الجولة الأولى على أستراليا بهدف دون مقابل، فيما حققت كوبا النقطة الأولى بعد الخسارة في الجولة الأولى من الأرجنتين 1/ 3.

Cuba made history by earning its first point in its FIFA U-20 World Cup participation after coming back from a two-goal deficit to draw with Italy, which played with ten players, in the match held at the Valparaíso stadium as part of Group D.
Italy's goals were scored by Andrea Natali (14') and Jamal Idrissou (31'), while Cuba's goals were scored by Michael Camiho from two penalty kicks (70', 87').
The match saw the Azzurri take the lead first when center-back Andrea Natali followed up on the ball from close range and put it in the net (14'), then Jamal Idrissou doubled the score with a wonderful touch following a cross from Cristian Camas (31'). Italy could have extended the lead further, but the match turned against them after Jamal Idrissou received a second yellow card in stoppage time of the first half for a foul on Jade Quinones, resulting in a red card (45+3').
Cuba took advantage of the numerical disadvantage and earned a penalty kick after a VAR review, as it was deemed that Natali committed a foul with his elbow on Marcos Campos inside the area. Michael Camiho confidently converted the penalty to reduce the deficit. It wasn't long before the scenario repeated itself, as Cristian Curadi was penalized after another review for pushing Didier Rinoso, allowing Camiho to step up again and calmly execute the penalty, giving Cuba a historic equalizer.
With this result, Italy achieved its first draw and reached four points after winning in the first round against Australia 1-0, while Cuba earned its first point after losing in the first round to Argentina 1-3.
