The Liverpool team continued its winning streak and dominated the top of the Premier League after defeating its guest Everton in the Merseyside derby with a score of two to one in the match held today (Saturday), as part of the fifth round of matches.

Liverpool's goals were scored by: Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch (10') and Frenchman Hugo Ekitike (29'), while Everton's goal was scored by Senegalese Idrissa Gueye (58').

Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch, aged 23, opened the scoring with a clever half-volley, following a through ball from Egyptian star Mohamed Salah (10'). After his goal, Gravenberch played the role of playmaker as he passed the ball to his teammate Ekitike, who controlled it and shot directly into the net for Liverpool's second goal (29'). In one of the most beautiful goals of the round, Senegalese Idrissa Gueye reduced the score for Everton after Yemane Ndiaye controlled the ball and made a short pass inside the penalty area to his teammate Idrissa, who struck it powerfully into the top corner to the left of goalkeeper Alisson for Everton's first goal (58'). The score remained unchanged until the referee announced the end of the match with Liverpool winning two to one.

With this result, Liverpool achieves its fifth consecutive victory and reaches 15 points, sitting at the top of the league. In the next round, they will face their host Crystal Palace, while Everton suffered their second defeat, remaining at 7 points, and will face their guest West Ham in the next round.
