أعلن الاتحاد الجزائري لكرة القدم، أن لوكا زيدان، نجل أسطورة الكرة الفرنسية زين الدين زيدان، أصبح مؤهلاً رسمياً لتمثيل المنتخب الجزائري، بعد حصوله على الجنسية الرياضية الجزائرية.
وأوضح الاتحاد في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي، أن الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) منح لوكا، حارس مرمى نادي غرناطة الإسباني، الترخيص القانوني للعب ضمن صفوف «محاربي الصحراء».
يُذكر أن زين الدين زيدان ينحدر من أصول جزائرية، حيث هاجر والداه، إسماعيل ومليكة، إلى فرنسا في خمسينات القرن الماضي.
فوز واحد يفصل الجزائر عن المونديال
وفي سياق متصل، يقترب المنتخب الجزائري من حسم بطاقة التأهل إلى نهائيات كأس العالم 2026، حيث يحتاج إلى فوز واحد فقط في آخر مباراتين ضمن التصفيات، أمام كل من أوغندا والصومال.
ويتصدّر المنتخب الجزائري المجموعة السابعة برصيد 19 نقطة، متقدّماً بفارق 4 نقاط عن منتخب أوغندا صاحب المركز الثاني.
The Algerian Football Federation announced that Luka Zidane, the son of French football legend Zinedine Zidane, is now officially eligible to represent the Algerian national team after obtaining Algerian sports nationality.
The federation clarified in a statement on its official website that the International Football Federation (FIFA) granted Luka, the goalkeeper of Spanish club Granada, the legal authorization to play for the "Desert Warriors."
It is worth mentioning that Zinedine Zidane has Algerian roots, as his parents, Ismail and Malika, immigrated to France in the 1950s.
One win separates Algeria from the World Cup
In a related context, the Algerian national team is close to securing a spot in the 2026 World Cup finals, as they need just one win in their last two qualifying matches against Uganda and Somalia.
The Algerian team leads Group 7 with 19 points, ahead of second-placed Uganda by 4 points.
