The Brazilian police announced the death of professional bodybuilder Walter de Vargas Aita (41 years old), known by the nickname "Valtinho," after he was stabbed during a fight inside his apartment in the city of Chapecó in the south of the country. According to an official statement, the confrontation broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning inside the victim's apartment, before he attempted to flee for help. Investigations and blood traces showed that he suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen, back, face, and neck, before collapsing on the building's stairs and dying.

The police confirmed that the main suspect in the incident is a 43-year-old woman, identified by local media as the victim's girlfriend, who was hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining serious injuries. Authorities reported that the woman has an outstanding arrest warrant from the state of Rio Grande do Sul due to a conviction for armed robbery resulting in death, for which she was sentenced to 15 years in prison. If she survives her injuries, she is expected to face new charges related to the murder.

The police clarified that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident and whether there are other parties involved. Aita is considered one of the prominent names in bodybuilding in Brazil, having achieved several titles at the state level, and he was the runner-up in the 2024 World Championship of the World Fitness Federation, in addition to working as a personal trainer and being notable for his strong presence on social media platforms.
