التحقت منتخبات أوروغواي وكولومبيا وباراغواي بركب المتأهلين إلى نهائيات كأس العالم 2026، ليرتفع عدد المنتخبات المتأهلة حتى الآن إلى 16 منتخباً من أصل 48.
وتشارك منتخبات الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك بصفتها الدول المُضيفة للبطولة، في حين يُعدّ الأردن المنتخب العربي الوحيد الذي ضمن التأهل حتى الآن، بعد أن صعد رفقة خمسة منتخبات آسيوية أخرى، هي: اليابان، إيران، كوريا الجنوبية، أوزبكستان، وأستراليا.
كما ضمنت ستة منتخبات من قارة أمريكا الجنوبية تأهلها رسمياً إلى المونديال، وهي: الأرجنتين، البرازيل، الإكوادور، أوروغواي، كولومبيا، وباراغواي.
ومن قارة أوقيانوسيا، حسم منتخب نيوزيلندا بطاقة التأهل، ليبقى 32 مقعداً شاغراً قبل نحو تسعة أشهر على انطلاق الحدث الرياضي الأكبر في العالم.
وكان الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) قد خصص لقارة آسيا ثمانية مقاعد مباشرة، إضافة إلى مقعد واحد عبر التصفيات القارية، فيما نالت قارة أفريقيا تسعة مقاعد مباشرة، إلى جانب مقعد إضافي عبر التصفيات القارية.
أما منطقة أمريكا الشمالية والوسطى والبحر الكاريبي، فستحصل على ثلاثة مقاعد مباشرة (إضافة إلى المنتخبات الثلاثة المضيفة)، إضافة إلى مقعدين عبر التصفيات القارية.
وتملك قارة أمريكا الجنوبية ستة مقاعد مباشرة، مع إمكانية تأهل منتخب سابع عبر التصفيات القارية.
The national teams of Uruguay, Colombia, and Paraguay have joined the ranks of those qualified for the 2026 World Cup, bringing the total number of qualified teams so far to 16 out of 48.
The teams from the United States, Canada, and Mexico are participating as the host countries of the tournament, while Jordan is the only Arab team that has secured qualification so far, having advanced along with five other Asian teams: Japan, Iran, South Korea, Uzbekistan, and Australia.
Additionally, six teams from South America have officially secured their place in the World Cup: Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia, and Paraguay.
From Oceania, New Zealand has clinched a qualification spot, leaving 32 slots vacant about nine months before the start of the biggest sporting event in the world.
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) allocated eight direct slots to Asia, in addition to one slot through continental qualifiers, while Africa received nine direct slots, along with one additional slot through continental qualifiers.
As for the North and Central America and Caribbean region, it will receive three direct slots (in addition to the three host teams), plus two slots through continental qualifiers.
South America has six direct slots, with the possibility of a seventh team qualifying through the continental qualifiers.
