أعلن نادي ليستر سيتي الإنجليزي، اليوم (الجمعة)، إنهاء تعاقده مع المدير الفني الهولندي رود فان نيستلروي، عقب الهبوط إلى دوري الدرجة الأولى الإنجليزي (تشامبيونشيب).
وأوضح النادي في بيان رسمي أنه تم التوصل إلى اتفاق مشترك مع فان نيستلروي لإنهاء العقد المبرم بين الطرفين، الذي وقّع في نوفمبر الماضي لمدة عامين ونصف.
وأضاف البيان أن الفريق سيواصل استعداداته للموسم المقبل، حيث ينطلق معسكر الإعداد الاثنين المقبل، تحت إشراف الجهاز الفني الحالي، إلى حين تعيين مدرب جديد.
من جانبه، قال فان نيستلروي في تصريح وداعي: «أود أن أشكر لاعبي ليستر سيتي، والجهاز الفني، والأكاديمية، وكل العاملين في النادي على احترافيتهم وتفانيهم خلال فترة عملي. كما أشكر جماهير الفريق على دعمهم، وأتمنى للنادي كل التوفيق في المستقبل».
وكان ليستر سيتي قد أنهى الموسم الماضي من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز في المركز الثامن عشر، برصيد 25 نقطة، ليهبط رسمياً إلى دوري الدرجة الأولى.
Leicester City Football Club announced today (Friday) the termination of its contract with Dutch manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, following their relegation to the English Championship.
The club clarified in an official statement that a mutual agreement was reached with van Nistelrooy to end the contract signed between the two parties last November for a duration of two and a half years.
The statement added that the team will continue its preparations for the upcoming season, with a training camp starting next Monday, under the supervision of the current coaching staff, until a new manager is appointed.
For his part, van Nistelrooy said in a farewell statement: “I would like to thank the Leicester City players, the coaching staff, the academy, and all the club's employees for their professionalism and dedication during my time here. I also thank the fans for their support, and I wish the club all the best in the future.”
Leicester City finished last season of the Premier League in eighteenth place, with 25 points, officially relegating them to the first division.
