وجاءت ثلاثية «الفراعنة» بتوقيع إبراهيم عادل ومحمد صلاح (هدفين)، ليضمن المنتخب المصري تأهله إلى نهائيات كأس العالم 2026، المقررة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك.

برصيد 20 هدفاً، أصبح محمد صلاح الهداف التاريخي لتصفيات كأس العالم على مستوى القارة الأفريقية، متفوقاً على كل من الإيفواري ديدييه دروغبا، والكاميروني صامويل إيتو، والبوركيني موموني داغانو، والجزائري إسلام سليماني، الذين يملك كل منهم 18 هدفاً في رصيده.
