في حادثة مروعة هزت الوسط الرياضي اللبناني، تعرض لاعب فريق البرج لكرة القدم، وارطان محمد السباعي، لاعتداء منظم تضمن طعنة سكين، وذلك بعد نهاية مباراة فريقه أمام الرياضي العباسية، التي أقيمت على ملعب عباس ناصر ضمن منافسات سداسية الأواخر في الدوري اللبناني لكرة القدم.
وكتب نادي البرج عبر حسابه على فيسبوك: «بعد نهاية المباراة وفوز فريق البرج بنتيجة 1 - 0، وبشكل مفاجئ وغير مبرر، تمّ فتح بوابات الملعب، ما أدّى إلى دخول جماهير الرياضي العباسية واعتدائهم على لاعبي فريق البرج بالأسلحة البيضاء والهراوات، ما أسفر عن إصابات متعدّدة في صفوف اللاعبين».
وأضاف بيان النادي: «تعرّض اللاعب وارطان محمد السباعي لطعنة سكين خطيرة استدعت نقله بشكل عاجل إلى مستشفى جبل عامل لتلقّي العلاج».
وتابع: «ما يجعل الأمر أكثر خطورة هو أنّ الهجوم كان منسّقاً ومدروساً بعناية، من لحظة اقتحام الملعب إلى طريقة انسحاب المعتدين من دون أيّ تدخّل يُذكر»، مضيفاً: «هذا ليس انفلاتاً عفوياً بل هو اعتداء منظم ومخطط له، يطرح علامات استفهام كبيرة حول النوايا والجهات التي تقف خلفه».
In a horrific incident that shook the Lebanese sports community, Al-Burj football team player, Wartaan Muhammad Al-Sabaa'i, was subjected to a coordinated attack that included a knife stabbing, following the end of his team's match against Al-Riyadi Al-Abbasiya, which took place at Abbas Nasser Stadium as part of the final six matches in the Lebanese football league.
Al-Burj Club wrote on its Facebook account: "After the end of the match and Al-Burj's victory with a score of 1 - 0, unexpectedly and without justification, the stadium gates were opened, leading to the entry of Al-Riyadi Al-Abbasiya fans who attacked Al-Burj players with white weapons and batons, resulting in multiple injuries among the players."
The club's statement added: "Player Wartaan Muhammad Al-Sabaa'i suffered a serious knife wound that necessitated his urgent transfer to Jabal Amel Hospital for treatment."
It continued: "What makes the situation more dangerous is that the attack was coordinated and carefully planned, from the moment of storming the stadium to the way the assailants withdrew without any notable intervention," adding: "This is not a spontaneous outbreak but rather an organized and premeditated assault, raising significant questions about the intentions and parties behind it."
