The terrorist Houthi militia has escalated its campaigns against citizens in Dhamar Governorate, kidnapping 30 citizens over the past two days, following their celebrations of the national holiday marking the founding of the Yemeni Republic.
Local sources reported that the arrest campaign targeted 11 citizens in Al-Hadda district, 8 in Anis districts, 6 in Atmah district, and 4 in Duran, in addition to one citizen in the city of Dhamar, noting that the abductees were placed in prisons and detention centers belonging to the militia in the district centers.
Among the abducted is Sheikh Khaled bin Jamal Al-Qousi, one of the dignitaries and notables of the Al-Hadda tribe, who was taken by the militia yesterday (Saturday) from his hometown in the "Tarizan" area of Bani Qous, along with other citizens from the area, before being placed in the "Zarajah" detention center in the center of Al-Hadda district.
According to the sources, the militia carried out a wide security campaign last night in the village of Bani Ali Al-Shabtan, which belongs to the Al-Hadda tribe, after young men from the area lit the torch of the September 26 Revolution on one of the mountains overlooking the village. The militia surrounded the area and kidnapped a number of farmers present in the valleys, in an attempt to pressure the villagers to hand over those they accused of igniting the torch.
The militia had issued circulars to the sheikhs and notables in villages, cities, and residential neighborhoods, demanding that they prevent any activities related to the September 26 Revolution, holding them responsible for reporting any violations.
In the city of Dhamar and at the entrances to the districts, the militia intensified its security presence, establishing checkpoints to inspect citizens, while its members searched phones and tampered with personal belongings.
