As the region witnesses an escalation and preparation for a wave of conflict between Iran and the United States, Turkey has hinted at new efforts to stop the war, indicating that it is determined to enter the mediation line between the two sides of the conflict.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated: "We are working with other countries to prepare new proposals aimed at pushing Tehran and Washington towards reaching an agreement that ends the war," explaining to Turkish channel "NTV" that his country seeks to achieve a result in the negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
Fidan did not disclose the details of these proposals, but he confirmed the existence of a strong lack of trust between the American and Iranian sides, saying: "There is a strong lack of trust between the two parties, and now both sides are clearly trying to push this process forward in a way that guarantees their interests."
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is scheduled to discuss with his American counterpart Donald Trump during an upcoming meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, which begins next Tuesday in New York, the outlines of these efforts and the possibility of reaching a final agreement between Washington and Tehran.
In contrast, Iran is sticking to its seven conditions announced today by the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Mohsen Rezaei, in order to return to the negotiating table with the American side.
Rezaei stated that Tehran has officially informed the U.S. government of the seven conditions it has set for starting any future negotiations between the two sides, in a move that reflects the ongoing diplomatic and political escalation regarding regional files, the nuclear program, and the imposed sanctions.
He pointed out that the U.S. administration has no choice but to accept the Iranian conditions and recognize Tehran's legitimate rights to emerge from the difficult and complex situation it has created for itself through its previous policies, emphasizing that Tehran's message to Washington is completely clear and not open to interpretation.
The announced Iranian conditions include ending the war on all fronts, the full release of Iranian funds frozen in international banks, in addition to ending the maritime blockade as a fundamental condition for reaching any political solutions.
Trump hinted a few days ago that he is facing a fateful decision regarding the Iranian file, but the Pakistani mediator continues his efforts and emphasized in previous statements the return to dialogue and diplomacy as a solution to end the conflict.
