The Sudanese army took control today (Thursday) of the Al-Farshaia area in the city of Dalang in South Kordofan state, following battles described as intense with the Rapid Support Forces.
A military source explained that they also took control of the Al-Mamsouka area, located about 60 kilometers west of the city of Al-Obeid in North Kordofan state, noting that the army targeted vehicles belonging to the Rapid Support Forces in the city of Sudri and its surroundings in North Kordofan using drones.
The source mentioned that the army and its supporting forces launched a wide-ranging ground operation on several fronts in the Kordofan region, coinciding with field advances in areas of the northern and southern parts of the region. The source confirmed that the army entered the Sudri locality in North Kordofan, which is controlled by the Rapid Support Forces, while working to secure it completely. The source pointed out that the Sudri locality in western North Kordofan represents the last stronghold of the Rapid Support Forces, and operations are ongoing to regain full control of the region, indicating that military operations have moved to the Hamrat Al-Sheikh area after the Rapid Support Forces fled there.
The states of Kordofan, Blue Nile, and Darfur have been witnessing continuous battles between the army and the Rapid Support Forces for months, while international and UN calls to end the war are escalating, to spare civilians from a humanitarian disaster that has begun to push millions into famine and death due to food shortages, as the fighting has spread to 13 out of 18 states.
