The Yemeni Prime Minister Dr. Sha'if Al-Zandani confirmed today (Monday) that the battle to restore full state authority does not end with changes in the front lines, explaining that Yemenis who stand today against the Iranian-backed Houthi project are fighting a defensive battle for the republic, sovereignty, and the future of the country.
Al-Zandani said during his meeting with the Governor of Al-Hudaydah in Aden, Al-Hassan Taher: "What is happening on the western coast is a repetition of the Houthi militia's pattern of subjugating local communities through killing, repression, displacement, and confiscation of property," emphasizing that these crimes will not be forgotten over time, and that the government will retain all documentation of these violations in preparation for holding the perpetrators accountable.
He pointed out that the state and government will continue to work on rebuilding strength and capacity to regain the initiative, aiming to end the coup and restore state authority and its institutions in Al-Hudaydah Governorate and across the entire national territory.
The Prime Minister directed to double efforts to receive the displaced and secure their basic needs, appreciating the efforts of local authorities in the provinces and areas receiving the displaced.
Al-Zandani stressed the necessity of addressing the waves of displacement as a national duty that requires a broad governmental and humanitarian response, urgent international support, and not leaving host communities and the displaced alone in the face of the repercussions of the escalation.
The Governor of Al-Hudaydah briefed the Prime Minister on the latest developments and updates in the governorate following the extensive military escalation by the terrorist Houthi militia and the serious field developments and wide-ranging humanitarian repercussions on civilians, in addition to the increasing displacement from areas that have been invaded by the Houthi militia and the violations committed against civilians, including killings and kidnappings, as well as the conditions of families forced to leave their homes and properties under the pressure of shelling, assaults, and pursuits, along with the urgent needs of the displaced and the efforts being made by local authorities in coordination with governmental bodies and regional and international partners.
