أعلن الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي أن نظيره الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون وعد بتسريع تسليم معدات فرنسية جديدة، مشيراً إلى النقص الذي تعاني منه أوكرانيا في مجال الدفاعات الجوية.
وقال زيلينسكي عبر تطبيق «تليغرام» اليوم (السبت): «اتفقنا على تسريع تسليم أحدث المعدات والصواريخ الفرنسية»، دون أن يقدم مزيداً من التفاصيل. وأضاف: «شكراً على تأكيد الاستعداد لتوفير التراخيص اللازمة لإنتاج الصواريخ». وتترقب أوكرانيا وصول منظومة الدفاع الجوي الإيطالية الفرنسية الجديدة «إس.إيه.إم.بي/تي-إن.جي»، التي يرى خبراء أنها ستعزز قدراتها على التصدي للصواريخ الباليستية.
وكان دبلوماسيون أوروبيون قالوا إن تسليم المنظومة لا يرجح أن يتم قبل ربيع العام القادم. وبعد 4 سنوات ونصف السنة على بداية الغزو الروسي لأوكرانيا تتكثّف الضربات البعيدة المدى بين الطرفين، مستهدفة بشكل متزايد منشآت مدنية مثل المستودعات اللوجستية، وموقعة عدداً متزايداً من الضحايا.
من جانبها، أفادت الأمم المتحدة بأن حصيلة القتلى المدنيين منذ بداية العام الحالي ارتفعت إلى أعلى مستوياتها منذ الأشهر الأولى للحرب.
وتواصل كييف مناشدة حلفائها للحصول على دعم إضافي في ظل تكثيف روسيا ضرباتها، حيث تواجه القوات الأوكرانية صعوبات في اعتراض الصواريخ الباليستية. وصعدت أوكرانيا ضرباتها الانتقامية على روسيا في الأشهر الأخيرة، وذلك في جزء منه للضغط على موسكو من أجل الجلوس إلى طاولة المفاوضات لإنهاء النزاع الأكثر دموية في أوروبا منذ الحرب العالمية الثانية.
وباءت الجهود الدبلوماسية بالفشل في دفع الطرفين نحو التوصل إلى اتفاق، إذ تصر موسكو على أن تقبل كييف بتقديم تنازلات كبيرة، سواء كانت إقليمية أو سياسية.
في المقابل، استبعد الرئيس الأوكراني الموافقة على شروط موسكو، معتبراً أنها ترقى إلى مستوى الاستسلام الفعلي وترك بلاده عرضة لهجوم روسي آخر.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron promised to expedite the delivery of new French equipment, pointing to the shortage that Ukraine is facing in the field of air defenses.
Zelensky said via the Telegram app today (Saturday): “We agreed to accelerate the delivery of the latest French equipment and missiles,” without providing further details. He added: “Thank you for confirming the readiness to provide the necessary licenses for missile production.” Ukraine is awaiting the arrival of the new Italian-French air defense system “SAMP/T NG,” which experts believe will enhance its capabilities to counter ballistic missiles.
European diplomats have indicated that the delivery of the system is unlikely to occur before next spring. After four and a half years since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, long-range strikes between the two sides are intensifying, increasingly targeting civilian facilities such as logistics warehouses, resulting in a growing number of casualties.
For its part, the United Nations reported that the civilian death toll since the beginning of this year has risen to its highest levels since the early months of the war.
Kyiv continues to appeal to its allies for additional support amid Russia's intensified strikes, as Ukrainian forces face difficulties in intercepting ballistic missiles. Ukraine has ramped up its retaliatory strikes on Russia in recent months, partly to pressure Moscow to come to the negotiating table to end the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War II.
Diplomatic efforts have failed to push both sides toward an agreement, as Moscow insists that Kyiv accept significant concessions, whether territorial or political.
In contrast, the Ukrainian president ruled out agreeing to Moscow's terms, considering them tantamount to actual surrender and leaving his country vulnerable to another Russian attack.
