A government source in the Blue Nile region revealed that the Minister of Finance and the official spokesperson for the Blue Nile region government survived an assassination attempt targeting their residences by a suicide drone attack from the Rapid Support Forces, according to reports from the channels "Al Arabiya and Al Hadath."
Field sources confirmed that suicide drones belonging to the Rapid Support Forces targeted the city of Damazin, the capital of the Blue Nile region, in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday), resulting in material damage, the death of 4 people, and injuries to 12 others.
Medical sources reported that a suicide drone targeted another house in the northern neighborhoods of the city, leading to the death of an entire family of four, with others sustaining varying degrees of injuries. Eyewitnesses confirmed hearing multiple explosions in different areas of Damazin, coinciding with the Sudanese army's ground defenses responding to swarms of drones targeting the city.
At the same time, the city of Roseires in the Blue Nile is witnessing a new wave of displacement among residents fleeing from the Wad al-Mahi locality in the eastern part of the region, following recent tensions and battles that erupted in the border strip between Sudan and Ethiopia, due to the incursion of groups affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces into some border areas.
Military sources confirmed that the Sudanese army regained control over various areas in the Wad al-Mahi locality, after the Rapid Support Forces and their allied militias had announced control over them two days ago. These areas include Jebel Nimir, Menza, Jebel al-Noor, Kadalo, and Bash Karkad.
