أعلن مصدر عسكري سوري أن الطيران الإسرائيلي استهدف، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، مدرج مطار أبو الظهور العسكري في ريف إدلب الشرقي، وفق ما نقلت قناة «الإخبارية» السورية الرسمية. وأكدت أن الطيران الإسرائيلي شن 8 غارات على مدرج المطار العسكري.
وحسب المصدر، فإن القصف الإسرائيلي اقتصرت أضراره على الجوانب المادية في بنية المطار، دون وقوع إصابات بشرية جراء الاستهداف.
وتبعد القاعدة نحو 70 كيلومتراً عن الحدود التركية، وخرجت من الخدمة كمطار عسكري منذ 2013، وتغيرت إدارتها عدة مرات خلال الحرب الأهلية السورية التي استمرت 14 سنة بين القوات الموالية للرئيس السابق بشار الأسد وقوات المعارضة.
ونقلت وكالة «رويترز» عن مصدر عسكري سوري قوله إن القاعدة استُخدمت منذ الإطاحة بالأسد في أواخر 2024 كمركز تدريب للجيش السوري.
وتأتي هذه الغارات في خضم توتر أمني متصاعد بين إسرائيل وتركيا وخطاب متزايد الحدة بين البلدين بشأن سورية.
وكانت الولايات المتحدة وضعت «فيتو» على طلب إسرائيلي لتنفيذ ضربات ضد أهداف في سورية، في وقت تشهد فيه مناطق الجنوب السوري تصعيداً ميدانياً وتوغلات إسرائيلية متكررة.
وأفادت القناة 13 الإسرائيلية، (الجمعة)، بأن واشنطن رفضت طلباً إسرائيلياً بشن غارات على أهداف داخل الأراضي السورية، دون أن توضح طبيعة الأهداف التي طلبت إسرائيل استهدافها.
وكان التلفزيون السوري أعلن أن القوات الإسرائيلية احتجزت عدداً من المواطنين بعد توغلها في ريف القنيطرة وإقامة حاجز للتفتيش. وفي ريف درعا الغربي، أطلقت القوات الإسرائيلية، (الجمعة)، نيران أسلحتها الرشاشة باتجاه منازل في قرية معرية.
وتشهد مناطق جنوب سورية توغلات إسرائيلية متكررة، تترافق مع إقامة حواجز عسكرية وتفتيش المارة والمنازل واحتجاز مدنيين، إلى جانب إطلاق النار في محيط المناطق السكنية، وسط اتهامات إسرائيلية بوجود تهديدات أمنية في المنطقة.
A Syrian military source announced that Israeli aircraft targeted the runway of Abu al-Zuhur military airport in eastern Idlib countryside today (Tuesday), according to the official Syrian channel "Al-Ikhbariya." It confirmed that Israeli aircraft carried out 8 airstrikes on the military airport's runway.
According to the source, the damage from the Israeli bombardment was limited to material aspects of the airport's infrastructure, with no human casualties resulting from the targeting.
The base is located about 70 kilometers from the Turkish border and has been out of service as a military airport since 2013. Its management has changed several times during the 14-year civil war between forces loyal to former President Bashar al-Assad and opposition forces.
Reuters reported a Syrian military source stating that the base has been used as a training center for the Syrian army since the overthrow of Assad in late 2024.
These airstrikes come amid rising security tensions between Israel and Turkey and increasingly heated rhetoric between the two countries regarding Syria.
The United States had vetoed an Israeli request to carry out strikes against targets in Syria, at a time when southern Syrian areas are witnessing increased military escalation and repeated Israeli incursions.
Israeli Channel 13 reported on Friday that Washington rejected an Israeli request to conduct airstrikes on targets within Syrian territory, without clarifying the nature of the targets that Israel sought to strike.
The Syrian television announced that Israeli forces detained a number of citizens after their incursion into Quneitra countryside and the establishment of a checkpoint for inspections. In western Daraa countryside, Israeli forces opened fire from their machine guns towards homes in the village of Ma'riya on Friday.
Southern Syria is witnessing repeated Israeli incursions, accompanied by the establishment of military checkpoints, inspections of passersby and homes, and the detention of civilians, alongside gunfire in residential areas, amid Israeli accusations of security threats in the region.
