أحبطت القوات المسلحة اليمنية اليوم (الخميس) هجوماً إرهابياً حوثياً بزوارق بحرية كانت تستهدف المناطق المحظورة في مدينة المخا غرب اليمن.
وقالت مصادر عسكرية إن قوات البحرية وخفر السواحل اشتبكت مع ثلاثة زوارق حوثية مفخخة ومأهولة كانت تحاول اختراق المناطق المحظورة في الساحل الغربي خلال اليومين الماضيين، ودمرت اثنين منها، كما اشتبكت أيضاً مع ثلاثة زوارق حوثية في مياه البحر الأحمر، مما أدى لتدمير وإغراق أحدها بمن عليه من عناصر المليشيا، بينما تمكن الزورقان الآخران من الفرار باتجاه المياه الدولية.
وذكرت المصادر أن القوات البحرية وخفر السواحل رصدت زورقاً محملاً بمعدات لإطلاق الطيران المسير، وبعد تتبع دقيق تم تدميره بصاروخ موجه وقتل من عليه من الإرهابيين.
من جهة أخرى، أكد مركز الدراسات والأبحاث (P.T.O.C Yemen) نجاح الجيش اليمني في التصدي لهجوم حوثي يستهدف عدداً من الجزر بما فيها جزيرتا زُقر وميون الإستراتيجيتان في البحر الأحمر.
وذكر المركز في بيان حصلت عليه «عكاظ» أن مجموعة من الزوارق الحوثية المأهولة استهدفت جزيرة زُقر وجزيرة ميون الإستراتيجية، إلى جانب ميناء الحيمة على الساحل الغربي لليمن، وبعضها كانت مزودة بأسلحة متوسطة وتحمل على متنها طائرات مسيّرة، لكن قوات الجيش وخفر السواحل تمكنت من التصدي للهجوم والاشتباك مع الزوارق المهاجمة وإجبارها على الانسحاب بعد تكبيدها خسائر.
وأكد المركز أن المعلومات الواردة من الميدان تشير إلى استخدام الحوثي زوارق تحمل طائرات مسيّرة في هجومه على جزيرتي زُقر وميون نظراً لأهميتهما الإستراتيجية وموقعهما في جنوب البحر الأحمر وارتباطهما بالمجال البحري المؤدي إلى مضيق باب المندب، مما يرفع مستوى المخاطر المحتملة على أمن الملاحة والانتشار العسكري وحماية خطوط التجارة الدولية في المنطقة.
وحذر المركز من خطورة محاولة الحوثي الوصول إلى زُقر وميون، مشيداً بالاستجابة السريعة للقوات المنتشرة في الجزر والسواحل المقابلة، واستطلاعاً لثغرات منظومات المراقبة والإنذار والحماية البحرية.
The Yemeni armed forces thwarted a Houthi terrorist attack today (Thursday) using naval boats targeting restricted areas in the city of Al-Mokha, west of Yemen.
Military sources stated that the naval and coast guard forces engaged with three explosive-laden and manned Houthi boats attempting to breach the restricted areas along the western coast over the past two days, destroying two of them. They also clashed with three Houthi boats in the Red Sea, resulting in the destruction and sinking of one of them along with its militia members, while the other two boats managed to flee towards international waters.
The sources mentioned that the naval and coast guard forces spotted a boat loaded with equipment for launching drones. After careful tracking, it was destroyed by a guided missile, killing the terrorists on board.
On another note, the Research and Studies Center (P.T.O.C Yemen) confirmed the success of the Yemeni army in repelling a Houthi attack targeting several islands, including the strategic islands of Zuqar and Mayyun in the Red Sea.
The center stated in a statement obtained by "Okaz" that a group of manned Houthi boats targeted Zuqar Island and the strategic Mayyun Island, as well as the Al-Haimah port on the western coast of Yemen, some of which were equipped with medium weapons and carried drones. However, the army and coast guard forces managed to repel the attack, engaging with the attacking boats and forcing them to withdraw after inflicting losses.
The center confirmed that information from the field indicates that the Houthis used boats carrying drones in their attack on Zuqar and Mayyun Islands due to their strategic importance and location in the southern Red Sea, linking them to the maritime area leading to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which raises the level of potential risks to navigation security, military deployment, and the protection of international trade routes in the region.
The center warned of the dangers of the Houthi attempt to reach Zuqar and Mayyun, praising the rapid response of the forces deployed on the islands and the opposite coasts, and the reconnaissance of gaps in the maritime surveillance, warning, and protection systems.
