أتلف مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام في اليمن، اليوم (الأربعاء)، 4141 لغماً من مخلفات الحرب في مديرية ميدي بمحافظة حجة.
وقال مدير عام المشروع، أسامة القصيبي: «إن هذه العملية تعد الأولى في المحافظة منذ بدء العمل فيها في سبتمبر الماضي، موضحاً أن عشر فرق ميدانية تنتشر في المواقع الأكثر تضرراً من الألغام فيها».

وأضاف: «أنجزت فرقنا أعمال تطهير ما مجموعه 4,210,134 متراً مربعاً من الأراضي في ميدي، وقامت بنزع وإزالة 153 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد، و2,669 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات، و142 عبوة ناسفة، و8,285 قطعة من الذخائر غير المنفجرة حتى اليوم»، مبيناً أن عملية الإتلاف التي نفذها الفريق (مسام 39) تمت وفق المعايير الفنية الدولية بعمليات التخلص من الألغام والمخلفات الحربية.
وأشار القصيبي إل0ى أن هذه العملية ستتلوها عمليات أخرى وفق جدول زمني معتمد، معرباً عن شكره وتقديره للسلطات المحلية في المحافظة على تعاونها مع المشروع، وتقديم كافة أوجه العون والمساندة في سبيل تمكين المشروع من أداء واجبه الإنساني لضمان الأمان والسلامة للمدنيين، وتمكينهم من العيش في بيئة خالية من الألغام والمخلفات الحربية.
وكان مشروع «مسام» نزع ما مجموعه 578,226 من الألغام والعبوات الناسفة والذخائر غير المنفجرة في كافة المديريات التي يعمل فيها المشروع منذ تأسيسه في منتصف العام 2018 وحتى نهاية شهر يوليو الماضي، في حين تبلغ المساحة الإجمالية المطهرة 83,7 مليون متر مربع.
The "Masam" project for mine clearance in Yemen has today (Wednesday) destroyed 4,141 landmines from the remnants of war in the Midi district of Hajjah governorate.
The project's director, Osama Al-Qusaibi, stated: "This operation is the first in the governorate since work began in September last year, explaining that ten field teams are deployed in the areas most affected by landmines."

He added: "Our teams have completed the clearance of a total of 4,210,134 square meters of land in Midi, and have removed 153 anti-personnel mines, 2,669 anti-tank mines, 142 explosive devices, and 8,285 pieces of unexploded ordnance to date," noting that the destruction operation carried out by team (Masam 39) was conducted according to international technical standards for mine disposal and war remnants.
Al-Qusaibi pointed out that this operation will be followed by other operations according to an approved timetable, expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the local authorities in the governorate for their cooperation with the project and for providing all forms of support and assistance to enable the project to fulfill its humanitarian duty to ensure safety and security for civilians, allowing them to live in a mine-free environment free from war remnants.
The "Masam" project has cleared a total of 578,226 landmines, explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance in all the districts where the project operates since its establishment in mid-2018 until the end of July last year, while the total cleared area amounts to 83.7 million square meters.
