بدأت السلطات الفيدرالية الأمريكية المختصة بالطيران تحقيقًا لمراجعة ملابسات حادثة تتعلق بسلامة الأجواء، وقعت الثلاثاء، بعدما تزامن تحليق مروحية عسكرية يُعتقد أنها كانت تقل الرئيس دونالد ترمب مع حركة رحلات مدنية في نطاق جوي قريب، وسط مراجعة لإجراءات السلامة المتبعة.
وبحسب مصادر مطلعة على تفاصيل الواقعة، أقلعت مروحية الرئيس المعروفة باسم «مارين وان» من البيت الأبيض بعد ظهر الثلاثاء، في الوقت الذي لم يوقف فيه مراقبو الحركة الجوية الرحلات التجارية القريبة من مطار رونالد ريغان واشنطن الوطني، رغم أن بروتوكولات السلامة تتطلب اتخاذ هذا الإجراء عند تحرك المروحية الرئاسية.
وعلق البيت الأبيض على إجراءات تحرك لترمب بمروحيته بالقول: الرئيس لم يكن في أي وقت بخطر.
وأكدت المصادر أن مسؤولي إدارة الطيران الفيدرالية يراجعون ملابسات الحادثة لتحديد ما إذا كانت هناك أي مخالفات أو قصور في تطبيق إجراءات تنظيم الحركة الجوية.
The relevant U.S. federal aviation authorities have begun an investigation to review the circumstances of an incident related to air safety that occurred on Tuesday, when the flight of a military helicopter believed to be carrying President Donald Trump coincided with civilian flight operations in a nearby airspace, amid a review of the safety procedures in place.
According to sources familiar with the details of the incident, the president's helicopter, known as "Marine One," took off from the White House on Tuesday afternoon, at a time when air traffic controllers did not halt commercial flights near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, even though safety protocols require this action when the presidential helicopter is in motion.
The White House commented on the procedures for Trump’s helicopter movement by stating: The president was never in any danger.
Sources confirmed that officials from the Federal Aviation Administration are reviewing the circumstances of the incident to determine if there were any violations or shortcomings in the implementation of air traffic control procedures.
