أكد رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني الدكتور رشاد محمد العليمي، (الثلاثاء)، أن اليمن يدخل مرحلة جديدة من استعادة المبادرة.
وأوضح العليمي، خلال استقباله سفيرة المملكة المتحدة لدى اليمن عبدة شريف، أن التطور الملحوظ في قدرات اليمن يعود إلى التحولات في ميزان القوى وإعادة بناء مؤسسات الدولة المدنية والعسكرية والأمنية، مما وفر رؤية أوضح وتماسكاً مؤسسياً أكبر، وإرادة سياسية موحدة لاستكمال استعادة مؤسسات الدولة.
وأفصح عن انسجام وتماسك غير مسبوق بين مؤسسات الدولة استعداداً للمرحلة القادمة، مشدداً على أهمية التعامل مع الحقائق على الأرض كما هي. وأشار العليمي إلى أن الحكومة اليمنية لم تفرض حصاراً على المواطنين في المناطق الخاضعة لسيطرة المليشيا الحوثية، بل حرصت على إبقاء الموانئ مفتوحة واستمرار حركة الاستيراد وتدفق الغذاء والدواء.
وأكد أن السبب الحقيقي للكارثة الإنسانية يتمثّل في استمرار اختطاف مؤسسات الدولة وتسخير مواردها لخدمة المشروع الانقلابي، مشيراً إلى أن إنهاء المعاناة الإنسانية يبدأ بإنهاء أسبابها واستعادة الدولة وسيادتها.
وقال العليمي: «اليمن لا يطلب من شركائه خوض معركته نيابة عنه، وإنما يتطلع إلى موقف دولي ثابت يدعم الدولة اليمنية ومؤسساتها الشرعية»، مبيناً أن استقرار اليمن يمثّل مصلحة إقليمية ودولية مشتركة.
وأشاد بالدور المحوري للمملكة المتحدة في الملف اليمني في مجلس الأمن، وما تبذله من جهود لدعم قرارات الشرعية الدولية وتعزيز أمن واستقرار اليمن والمنطقة.
وعبر عن تطلعه للارتقاء بالشراكة الثنائية مع بريطانيا في مجالات دعم مؤسسات الدولة والتعافي الاقتصادي. ورحب بالتحالف البحري لحماية حرية الملاحة الدولية، مثمناً الدور القيادي للسعودية في تعزيز أمن البحر الأحمر وباب المندب.
من جهتها، جددت السفيرة البريطانية تأكيد دعم المملكة المتحدة لمجلس القيادة الرئاسي والحكومة اليمنية، مؤكدة تطلع بلادها إلى مواصلة العمل الوثيق مع الحكومة اليمنية بما يخدم جهود السلام والاستقرار والتعافي الاقتصادي في البلاد.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, confirmed on Tuesday that Yemen is entering a new phase of regaining initiative.
Alimi explained, during his meeting with the UK Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, that the noticeable development in Yemen's capabilities is due to shifts in the balance of power and the rebuilding of civil, military, and security state institutions, which has provided a clearer vision, greater institutional cohesion, and a unified political will to complete the restoration of state institutions.
He revealed an unprecedented harmony and cohesion among state institutions in preparation for the upcoming phase, emphasizing the importance of dealing with the realities on the ground as they are. Alimi pointed out that the Yemeni government has not imposed a blockade on citizens in areas controlled by the Houthi militia, but has been keen to keep ports open and maintain the flow of imports, food, and medicine.
He affirmed that the real cause of the humanitarian disaster lies in the continued hijacking of state institutions and the exploitation of their resources to serve the coup project, noting that ending humanitarian suffering begins with addressing its causes and restoring the state and its sovereignty.
Alimi stated: “Yemen does not ask its partners to fight its battle on its behalf, but rather looks forward to a stable international stance that supports the Yemeni state and its legitimate institutions,” indicating that Yemen's stability represents a common regional and international interest.
He praised the pivotal role of the United Kingdom in the Yemeni file at the Security Council and its efforts to support international legitimacy decisions and enhance the security and stability of Yemen and the region.
He expressed his aspiration to elevate the bilateral partnership with Britain in areas supporting state institutions and economic recovery. He welcomed the maritime coalition to protect freedom of international navigation, appreciating Saudi Arabia's leadership role in enhancing the security of the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.
For her part, the British ambassador reiterated the United Kingdom's support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government, affirming her country's desire to continue working closely with the Yemeni government to serve the efforts for peace, stability, and economic recovery in the country.
