غادر نحو 73,500 مهاجر مدينة سبتة الإسبانية، الواقعة على الساحل الشمالي لأفريقيا، متجهين إلى المغرب، بحسب ما أفادت به وكالة الأنباء الإسبانية «إي إف إي» (الأحد)، نقلاً عن مسؤولين أمنيين.
وأفادت الوكالة بأن الرقم يشمل مهاجرين وصلوا إلى المدينة قبل التدفق الجماعي للمهاجرين غير الشرعيين في 30 يوليو، إضافة إلى أشخاص عبروا الحدود أكثر من مرة.
وذكرت «إي إف إي» أن عدد المهاجرين الذين لقوا حتفهم أثناء محاولتهم السباحة إلى سبتة ارتفع إلى 71 مهاجراً على الأقل.
من جهتها، أفادت إذاعة «كادينا سير» بأن السلطات الإسبانية عثرت على 74 قتيلاً، بينما عثرت السلطات المغربية على 16 قتيلاً.
وتواصل السلطات البحث في البحر قبالة سبتة عن جثث أشخاص ربما يكونون قد غرقوا خلال اندفاع عشرات الآلاف من المهاجرين إلى الجيب الإسباني في شمال أفريقيا.
ووفق شبكة «آر تي في إي»، فإن قوات الحرس المدني تقوم بتمشيط المياه قبالة الساحل. ونقلت صحيفة ال بايس الإسبانية عن رجل شرطة قوله: «هناك الكثير من الموتى في البحر».
وتعد السلطات المحلية مكاناً يمكنه استيعاب ما يصل إلى 200 جثة، حسبما ذكرت الصحيفة.
ودخل نحو 50 ألف مهاجر سبتة قادمين من المغرب بحلول يوم الجمعة، حيث وصلوا إلى الجيب الإسباني الذي يبلغ تعداد سكانه 85 ألف شخص. وقالت السلطات الإسبانية إن معظم المهاجرين عادوا منذ ذلك الحين طواعية إلى المغرب.
About 73,500 migrants have left the Spanish city of Ceuta, located on the northern coast of Africa, heading towards Morocco, according to the Spanish news agency "EFE" (on Sunday), citing security officials.
The agency reported that the figure includes migrants who arrived in the city before the mass influx of illegal migrants on July 30, as well as individuals who crossed the border multiple times.
EFE mentioned that the number of migrants who have died while attempting to swim to Ceuta has risen to at least 71.
For its part, Cadena SER reported that Spanish authorities found 74 dead, while Moroccan authorities found 16 dead.
Authorities continue to search the sea off Ceuta for the bodies of individuals who may have drowned during the rush of tens of thousands of migrants into the Spanish enclave in North Africa.
According to RTVE, the Civil Guard is patrolling the waters off the coast. The Spanish newspaper El País quoted a police officer as saying, "There are many dead in the sea."
The local authorities have designated a place that can accommodate up to 200 bodies, according to the newspaper.
About 50,000 migrants entered Ceuta from Morocco by Friday, arriving in the Spanish enclave, which has a population of 85,000. Spanish authorities stated that most of the migrants have since voluntarily returned to Morocco.
