وسط جهود سياسية لوقف إطلاق النار، أعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي مقتل قياديين من الجناح العسكري لحركة حماس في غارتين استهدفتا جنوب ووسط قطاع غزة.
غارات جوية إسرائيلية
وقال الجيش الإسرائيلي في بيان، اليوم (الأحد)، إن إحدى الغارات أسفرت عن مقتل سالم جمال عبدالرحمن أبو لبدة، قائد فصيل في وحدة «النخبة» التابعة لكتائب القسام، مشيراً إلى أنه شارك في الهجوم على كيبوتس نير عوز خلال هجوم السابع من أكتوبر 2023. وأضاف أن غارة أخرى استهدفت وسط قطاع غزة، وأسفرت عن مقتل محمد عبدالناصر خطيب، قائد كتيبة المغازي في الجناح العسكري لحماس، مشيراً إلى أن الرجلين كانا يشاركان في التخطيط وتنفيذ هجمات ضد القوات الإسرائيلية، وأن استهدافهما جاء عبر غارات جوية دقيقة بهدف إزالة التهديد.
موافقة على الاتفاق
من جانبه، أفصح مسؤول في حماس أن الوسطاء في مفاوضات غزة، أبلغوا الحركة أن إسرائيل ستوقف بشكل كامل الاعتداءات وكافة عمليات القصف الجوي والمدفعي والهدم في القطاع، اعتباراً من اليوم (الأحد). وأفاد المسؤول بأن الوسطاء أبلغوا حماس أن «مجلس السلام» تلقى موافقة إسرائيل، في إطار موقفها الموافق على الاتفاق، دون مزيد من التفاصيل. وأضاف أن الوسطاء يبذلون كل جهد لوضع الاتفاق قيد التنفيذ على الأرض، مشيراً إلى أن لجنة رقابة تابعة للوسطاء ولجنة تحقيق دولية ستتابعان عملية تطبيق الاتفاق، مشدداً على التزام حماس والفصائل الفلسطينية الأخرى بتنفيذ الاتفاق، مطالباً الوسطاء بإلزام إسرائيل بتنفيذه بدقة. وقتل فجر (الأحد) ثلاثة فلسطينيين بينهم طفل، إثر غارة شنها سلاح الجوي الإسرائيلي استهدفت شقة في منطقة المواصي قرب ميناء الصيادين في بلدة القرارة بخان يونس جنوبي قطاع غزة.
إحراز تقدم كبير
ويأتي إعلان إسرائيل في وقت تتواصل فيه الجهود السياسية للتوصل إلى اتفاق لوقف إطلاق النار، إذ أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب إحراز تقدم كبير بعد موافقة حماس على نزع سلاحها ضمن مبادرة مدعومة من الولايات المتحدة لتنفيذ اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار الذي تم التوصل إليه العام الماضي بوساطة مصرية. وفي اليوم التالي، نشر مجلس السلام الذي يرأسه ترمب خريطة طريق من 15 بنداً تتضمن الخطوات النهائية لتنفيذ الاتفاق. لكن هذه الخريطة لم تدخل حيز التنفيذ حتى الآن، إذ تؤكد حماس أنها لن تسلم أسلحتها إلا بعد وقف العمليات العسكرية الإسرائيلية وانسحاب القوات الإسرائيلية وفقاً لبنود الاتفاق السابق. من جانبه، أكد مسؤول إسرائيلي لوكالة «رويترز» أنه لن يكون هناك أي انسحاب من المواقع العسكرية الحالية ما لم يتم تنفيذ نزع سلاح حقيقي لحماس. ولم يعلّق رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، علناً على المبادرة، بينما وصف وزير الأمن القومي إيتمار بن غفير، المقترح بأنه غير مقبول، داعياً إلى مواصلة استهداف واغتيال قادة حماس.
Amid political efforts to achieve a ceasefire, the Israeli army announced the killing of two leaders from the military wing of Hamas in two airstrikes targeting southern and central Gaza Strip.
Israeli Airstrikes
The Israeli army stated in a statement today (Sunday) that one of the airstrikes resulted in the death of Salem Jamal Abdulrahman Abu Labda, a leader of a faction in the "Elite" unit of the Al-Qassam Brigades, noting that he participated in the attack on Kibbutz Nirim during the assault on October 7, 2023. It added that another strike targeted central Gaza, resulting in the death of Mohammed Abdulnasser Khatib, the commander of the Al-Maghazi Brigade in Hamas's military wing, indicating that both men were involved in planning and executing attacks against Israeli forces, and that targeting them was carried out through precise airstrikes aimed at eliminating the threat.
Approval of the Agreement
For its part, a Hamas official revealed that mediators in the Gaza negotiations informed the movement that Israel would completely cease its assaults and all air and artillery bombardments and demolitions in the sector, starting today (Sunday). The official stated that the mediators informed Hamas that the "Peace Council" received Israel's approval as part of its stance agreeing to the agreement, without further details. He added that the mediators are making every effort to implement the agreement on the ground, noting that a monitoring committee from the mediators and an international investigation committee will follow up on the implementation process of the agreement, emphasizing Hamas's and other Palestinian factions' commitment to executing the agreement, while calling on the mediators to ensure Israel's precise implementation of it. Three Palestinians, including a child, were killed early on Sunday due to an airstrike carried out by the Israeli Air Force targeting an apartment in the Al-Mawasi area near the fishermen's port in the town of Al-Qarara in southern Gaza Strip.
Significant Progress
The announcement from Israel comes at a time when political efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement are ongoing, as U.S. President Donald Trump announced significant progress after Hamas agreed to disarm as part of a U.S.-backed initiative to implement a ceasefire agreement reached last year through Egyptian mediation. The following day, the Peace Council, chaired by Trump, published a 15-point roadmap outlining the final steps for implementing the agreement. However, this roadmap has not yet come into effect, as Hamas insists that it will not surrender its weapons until Israeli military operations cease and Israeli forces withdraw according to the terms of the previous agreement. For his part, an Israeli official confirmed to Reuters that there would be no withdrawal from current military positions unless there is a genuine disarmament of Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not publicly commented on the initiative, while National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir described the proposal as unacceptable, calling for continued targeting and assassinations of Hamas leaders.
